Stay as far away from this web site and any "how to draw manga" books and tutorials as you possibly can.

You need to learn to draw real people before you stylize. Download these books and do the exercises. You can draw anime later.

Manga University is actually quite a good website on how to draw manga(its where I learnt), once you get good at it you should buy decent stuff to colour it in, I use Manga ProMarkers which leave such a good finish people think I did them on the computer biggrin biggrin biggrin biggrin biggrin biggrin
Julie Dillon is a good artist, I'll agree with that. Except she actually draws like this. This just proves that you need to know the basics of drawing well before heading off into anime.

Follow Ninota's advice. Learn to draw seriously before heading off into the anime direction. Anime is deceptively hard if you don't know what you're doing.

If you already bought a ton of books:
Use them, but don't copy them.
Most people misunderstand the purpose of such books.
They try to teach a set of steps that can be used to
go from a bunch of lines and circles to something else.
Sadly, most people just learn how to draw horribly cliche schoolgirls
and samurai in colors that make you want to punch out your own eyes.
I usually just glance through those books at the store,
absorb as much of the actually good tips about clothing
and anatomy as possible and then put them back.

The best, PROVEN method to drawing anything well?
P r a c t i c e.
Draw every single day, all the time.
There's no miracle tip that anyone can give you
that will make you a genius. Work hard!
Good luck. c:

The only thing you should study is anatomy, DO NOT copy a style. Its way more unique if you create your own touch to things, instead of doing what everyone else does. :3 Enjoy your drawing.

oh… that must've been the authors' plans all along… the more people who crappy anime, the more jobs the worth while artists will get. It would be an interested venture.

Like everyone said, honestly the key to draw anime-ish style, is to not draw anime style. L
earn anatomy.
Figure drawings.
Don't even try to create a style at this moment, nor copy someone else's style. Just learn the basics and your style will just come,
Dont force it.
Good luck

from what ive seen drawing from tutorials usually makes it look very... beginner-ish
maybe just find some pictures you like and draw certain elements from those.
