Nice. I do like adventure, but fantasy is my favorite. Mostly cause my brain works in fantasy. xD; I didn't get very far with reading "Lord of the Rings". Dunno why, but I couldn't get past the first book. :/ I should try again now, since I tried to read it when I was younger. I'd have to say that some of my favorite manga are "Sailor Moon" and "Trinity Blood". I have a few others, but those are the top ones. ^ ^ Favorite book would be the "Anita Blake" series. Well the older books more so, cause the newer books (while they are still good) are more adult than the earlier ones.

Bump. ^_^ OMG look! An actual conversation! XDD
l like reading too. l love manga and fantasy, but I also like other books like psychology books and such. I'd have to say my favorite manga is Soul Rescue (but it got canceled crying ). But I'm reading The House of Silk right now. It's a new Sherlock Holmes book - first one to be released by the Doyle estate in over 100 years! It's really good so far. Love Sherlock Holmes! heart

"Sailor moon" is just classic, and I'll definitely watch/read "Trinity Blood". LOTR is kinda boring at the beginning, with all the singing and explaining, but it's definitely necessary to get you into the fantasy mood, after all, LOTR was the first book of such nature, back than, almost nobody knew what's an elf or a troll (ololol).
"The House of Silk" uh? I've read all SH books when a kid and it still remains one of my favorite. it's not written by Doyle so I'm kinda skeptic about that one, do you see any difference between this one and the oldies?
Did anyone read Snikets' books? it fits the adventure-fantasish style and just plain awesome.

Trinity Blood is really good. ^ ^ I've just read it tho, still need to watch it. xD; Yea, I'll have to go back and read the LOTR books. I probably wont have as much an issue reading it now, as I did when I was younger. I should find the SH books to read. xD; Love the British t.v. show tho. ^ ^ I haven't heard of Snikets, I'll have them up. That sounds awesome. ^ ^

....On a side note, I misread SH as Silent Hill rather than Sherlock Holms. XD;;

SH, lol! what's the difference really? biggrin
The author is Lemony Sniket, "A Series of Unfortunate Events", very amusing yet somewhat dark for example: "If you are allergic to something you know you probably shouldn't put it in your mouth, especially if that thing is cats."
I don't know about the Holms show but "Doctor Who" is pretty neat.

Lol, there are some differences... But some of those puzzles do make you feel like you have to be Sherlock to solve them. XD;; Ah ok. Then I have heard of it. ^ ^; I watched the movei for it. XD; It's a neat show that friends of mine found on Netflix and showed me. It's Sherlock in a modern setting. It's neat. ^ ^ I haven't seen Doctor Who, but I've heard a lot about it.

I was skeptical at first too, but the author that the Doyle Estate picked is amazing! He really keeps them in character, and the writing style is very reminiscent of Doyle. It's definitely worth the read, especially if you're a Holmes' fan.

So I'll definitely read it!

Both of you like DnD, right? I always wanted to try it but then I saw all the rules and the therms and got scared.

LOL! Yay! I'm sure you'll love it!

I love DnD! It was my first RP experience! It's really not that hard - unless you're the DM...then yea, it can be a little intimdating! You should totally try it though - as a player - not a DM. XD It's so worth it! I love DnD! But I also like Exalted and VtM is pretty cool. XD There's a new one though that I'm doing with my friends (Neko included! XD)...l think it's Anima...is that right Neko?

Yes, that's right Krayla. It's called Anima. It's for advanced role-players and even then it's really hard.

But DnD is really fun! It's great if your a player and have a relaxed DM. A lot of DM's don't strictly follow the rules, at least the ones that I know, so that helps. And if you were to joined my husbands games, he just kinda follows them for battles and such. But I've done both playing and DMing...It's a fun game. If you have any questions, feel free to ask. ^_^

DM is Dungeon Master, right? but what's "Exalted" and "VtM"? sweatdrop
Maybe for the newbies it's best to start with playing with people they know, when I'm entering a forum I see all these text and think "what if I'll do something inappropriate?" It'll ruin their beautiful RP or make them made. then I'll be banished to the land of rejected cheese. crying
The forums here of Gaia are much more free, it's not DnD isn't it? more of a RP?

Yes, DM is Dungeon Master, while another term would be ST which is Story Teller. Exalted and VtM/Vampire the Masquraid are other tabletop rpgs that are made by White Wolf. They are other fun games to try out.

Exalted is kind like taking anime and martial arts movies and throwing them into a game. VtM is basically like it sounds, playing vampires and other supernaturals in a modern setting. Both are fun in their own rights. Yes, the best thing to do is to play with people that you know, easiest way is being in person. Cause you can play with people you know online, but it does become more of an rp/story, rather than a rp/game.

I like doing both, cause both are fun, but... While the forms on Gaia are much more free, you're right. It's kind of intimidating on joining a rp that's already going on, since you don't want to ruin it. I do the same thing. sweatdrop But I will encourage you to try, cause DnD--even if you find a rp for it on Gaia--is really fun. Sorry for the delay, work was trying to kill me. sweatdrop
