Also, if you buy a replacement that is used make sure the warranty still covers it. I went through 3 different laptops.
1.) Video card was attached to the motherboard and it broke. We would've paid more for a new board then we did for the whole computer so we just scrapped it for parts.
2.) My Mac iBook froze a lot. Again, bad video card but this time it was a problem that Apple knew about. The video chip set was becoming un-soldered from the motherboard. Unfortunately the time for it to be fixed by them had passed. Jerks, as much as I like the Apple system I've had nothing but problems with it.
3.) My new Lappy is a Del. We got it from ebay, but you can get good deals from
www.thedeloutlet.com. It is where they sell refurbished and cheaper laptops with XP still on them. Mine has XP and I only got it a couple of months ago. Most "refurbished" ones they have a few scratches or were ordered but then it was canceled.
New lappy is great, I have not had any problems with it. Unfortunately my Wacom tablet has been causing problems but that is with the new drivers. They caused my computer to crash suddenly, and in conjunction with itunes completely destroyed the original hard drive. Del replaced it though, incredibly quickly too. And now I'm to the old drivers so everything is good. We paid $641.
:sigh: I feel your pain.
Also, CUTE CAT! >^.^< nyan-nyan.
