For this contest it's supposed to be 'donations'. People wanting the opportunity to be a featured artist on a manga for a published novel.
BUT! Yes, if I want an artist to do merchandise like shirts and things I work out a contract with them and it usually depends on the quality, and what they want, to decide on a price. While I legally have the right to use fanart for anything I want, I want to show my fans the respect they show me, so I don't sell without asking and ask the same in return (that way you don't go to jail, either!) I use this contest as a sort of scouting mission. I want to see style, and from that I'll ask an artist to do something. GenesisToy knows! She was hired shortly after entering a contest. |
