• • • Welcome to The April Showers Birthday Bash!

This art contest is effectively me wanting to celebrate my 18th birthday.
I turn 18 on April 15th 2012, so that is when the contest shall end and the winners announced.
As I have said, the main reason I am holding this contest is to celebrate the day I enter 'adulthood'.
However to me it's a bit more than that.
It's a day where I can close the chapter of my past, especially my childhood.
I can move on from it and be a new person that isn't affected by bullies or my low self-esteem.
What better way is there to celebrate my new freedom than by recieving art to remind me of what I have become?

xxxxx There are no limits as to how many entries you can submit.
☂ May I collaborate with another artist?
xxxxx If you wish to, you can. However it is up to both artists to decide how the prize is split.
☂ Who do I draw if I am doing single art?
xxxxx You are to draw the female avatar.
☂ Your references have no clothes on. Do we just draw them in their underwear?
xxxxx No as part of what you are being judged on is outfit design.
☂ Do we have to use the compulsary items?
xxxxx Yes, you do. Those items are possessions that we cherish and to be drawn without them then simply cannot be called us.
☂ How many categories can one piece win?
xxxxx One piece can win one leading and two secondary categories.

The reason why you have been given a barely dressed avatar is simply because I want to test your creativity.
Along with the fact that tektek doesn't have any clothes that I normally wear xD
So pretty much part of what you are being judged on is outfit design.
However there are a couple of ideas and compulsary items that can be viewed here.

He is only to be used in couple submissions, not singles.
Also he has slightly longer hair that is curly, there just isn't a decent tektek hairstyle. As I said before you are being tested on outfit design, hence the near naked avatar.

This section of the post is where I offer you ideas as to what you could draw.
These ideas are common occurances for when I am alone and when I am with Ashley.

• Reading a Pride and Prejudice (My favourite book of all time)
• Dancing stupidly to my MP3
• Being snuggled in my bed with my head peering out of my blanket to glare at my phone (my alarm clock) at six in the morning
• Have me with my arms crossed with my foot pushing down a box titled 'bullies'
• Have me nomming on Jaffa Cakes/Reese's Peanut Butter Cups/Chinese Takeout

• Playing the X-Box together
• Playing card games together (mainly Snap and 21 - which I lose at both)
• Having our pinky fingers interlinked
• Having us dancing together
• Having Ashley or even me propose to the other

• Have us both dressed up as Nerd Herders from Chuck
• Have us cosplaying as Rapunzel with her hair cut and Ashley as Flynn (from the movie Tangled)
• Bride and Groom Attire

This section will be small seeing as I am not requesting gifts.
But I thought, it's a birthday-based thread, what if people can't draw?
