First person is fine. I'm pretty open, format-wise. Prose, poetry, haiku, play script, whatever -- anything's cool as long as it's a good read and reflects a great deal of insight on the characters.

I haven't printed them out, actually, so I don't know about the page count. Longer doesn't necessarily mean better, though. If your story needs 50k words for the full impact, then let it be 50k; but if it only needs 2k, there's no point in trying to stretch it to 3k with unnecessary adverbs and whatnot. But just to satisfy your curiosity, there's one that's over 40k words long.

I will admit, I do think it'd be unlikely for a short little haiku to win the grand prize. XD A collection of good haikus, though, might be a different story.

You are certainly allowed to use multiple characters. You can even throw in a character that's not in the comic, as long as the focus is on the canon characters.

Remember that you're free to run any ideas or WIPs by me. I offer critiques and suggestions to anyone who asks. ^^ It's not a requirement, of course; just an option that I would find immensely helpful if I were entering a contest.

I didn't expect to get so involved, and when I got to the end I was so shocked, I wanted to throw my laptop across the room!
