I would extend it and leave a clear explanation of why you extended it. Then, there wouldn't be that whole, "mine musta not been good enough for her" thing. And it would improve the quality of the art you recieve as well as the possible prizes. Sides, maybe someone who worked really hard to get there's in on time can go in and fix the areas that were messed up by the, rushing on their peice.
