Ritterlich

I really enjoyed Ritterlich's depiction of Sabin. The clothing is period, and yet different from the traditional black and white. She's got this great, misty background with the hint of the anju in the shadows behind him. The pose is fun, and it's overall a great Sabin piece that really stands out!

It was really a tough call between this and Ritterlich's Sabins. This is also a fantastic Sabin piece - great precision on the lineart, a terrifying Anju, and even the detail of the nasty burn scars around his wrist. This is a wonderful classic depiction of the character and there is absolutely no mistaking this character for anyone other than my Sabin <3.

Kiiro-chan

This piece really caught me. First off, Sabin looks very characteristic to me; while he can be regarded as handsome, he's no perfect bishonen. The long face and nose is great here - but best of all is the absolutely wonderful job Kiiro did on the eerie looming Anju. The light of the eyes reflecting off of the white of his hair, the almost palpable darkness, and the fact you can make out the hint of the shape of the anju's face and arms using the light of his eyes really makes this piece so atmospheric.

I didn't get many joey entries, but this one is a stunner! The rising fiery background, the cool posework, and the creepy looking demon in the background just bring it together. It looks excellent! I'm proud to award this piece runner up Best in "Heroes!"

It really makes the piece, and that nonchalant look away really reveals something about Sabin's views about his Anju's shortcomings- just look the other way. It's a part of himself, whether he likes it or not, and will haunt him for the rest of his days. Congrats on Best Sabin! :3
