Welcome to RSI, the Matrix: Ascension's very own art contest. The Matrix: Ascension is a long-running Gaia based RP. Several members have come together to fund this art contest centered around the RP's most prominent characters. For more information on the Matrix: Ascension you can follow this link.

What does RSI stand for?
Residual Self Image. "The term was popularized in fiction by The Matrix, where persons who existed in a digitally created world would subconsciously maintain the physical appearance that they had become accustomed to projecting. Within that genre, the term refers to your projected self-image inside the Matrix, i.e. what you look like while in the Matrix."

1. Please read the entire first page before asking questions.

2. There's nothing wrong with commenting on someone's work, but please keep those comments constructive. If you'd rather nobody comment on your entry please leave a clear note when you submit it.

1. All entries must be submitted using the entry form.

2. No X rated art. We're not putting specific restrictions on this, so just use your head. Sexual and suggestive pictures are fine, but no nudity and nothing too extreme. If you're considering a piece you're just not sure about PM any questions. If your entry violates the Gaia TOS in any way please PM it rather than posting it.

3. All entries must be entirely original. This means no art theft, no tracing and no eyeballing. For a definition of unoriginal art you can check out this link. If you're caught violating this rule in any way shape or form all of your entries will be removed, you'll be banned from entering any futher contests and publicly made fun of for days after.

4. All entries must be drawn specifically for this contest. If you've been commissioned by one of us in the past or have a drawing laying around that looks an awful lot like one of our characters please don't submit it.

5. Entries submitted after the deadline will not be accepted. If you have an entry nearly complete come the contest end you can submit the incomplete work and it will be judged as-is.

6. All entries are assumed property of us, the contest holders. If for any reason you'd rather we don't use your entry elsewhere or display it ever again include that information when you submit it.

7. No dolls or edits.

8. Each entry is eligible for one prize. If you enter more than once, each of your drawings can win a prize (meaning one person can win multiple prizes), but no single drawing can win more than one prize. There is no limit to how many times you can enter.

9. Photo elements in entries will be accepted on a case by case basis. If you'd like to use photographs/digital images in your entry, and you'd like to know if it will be okay in advance, please PM the owner of the character(s) you are drawing.

A. The end date has been set at January 14th, 11:59 PM EST. Works in progress submitted by the 14th must be completed by January 19th, 11:59 PM EST. The Awards Ceremony will be on January 21st, time pending.

CJHeth Suggests:
Drawing Heth and Lovelace together.
No heavy groping of sexual areas between the Heths in couples artwork (They have no genitalia,Castore just has breasts ^_^; ).
CJ is fond of alternative styles and unusual types of artwork. Artists who draw especially thin people are encouraged to keep Heth in mind.

Castore Smoking: When I first created Castore, I envisioned her as Faye Valentine meets The Oracle. These influences are very apparent in the character. Though the Oracle and Faye have very little in common, they do share one similair trait: They're both heavy smokers. Show this trait!
Heth in Priest Garb: I don't have alot of pictures of Heth in his priest clothes and that should change!
Lyrical Backgrounds/Influences: This took me forever to put together. I have no suggested scenes like the others do, as if I did that I would go through the entire 2000+ pages of Ascension and pull EVERY scene with the Heths EVER in it. Instead, I have compiled a list of song lyrics that, I feel, remind me of the Heths. I am highly inspired by music in my RP. The list is :Here. I hope these will help inspire you all in your entries! You may use these however you see fit. Songs are organized by who they apply to, and in what way.

- Seeing particular RP moments drawn out is really cool. If you need help on ideas you're always welcome to browse the RP itself or ask.
- Isis (as a child) has a tendancy to wander around poking Loki's oversized tummy when he's been eating too much meat. I think it's adorable, cause I'm weird.
- Examples of Seth and Loki's duality would be sweet. They're like yin and yang, light and dark. Even seeing this in an abstract drawing of them would be awesome.

Dante's Characters

Loki

Character's Setting: The Matrix Universe
Name: Loki
Race: Program
Age: 8 (Program Age. He appears to be in his late 20's)

Appearance: Though strong and more than capable of taking care of himself, Loki isn't what you'd call a muscular brute. He's a hybrid lycan (werewolf); the result of a virus glitch, preventing him from turning into a full-blooded furry beast. Somewhat lanky, but sporting a well-developed musclar frame, Loki's built for a combination of speed and force.

The most notable of Loki's features would be his hair, eyes, teeth, ears, and claws. Loki's wild nature is reflected well by his untamed mane of black hair (he's quite proud of his poofy doo). Each of Loki's fingernails ends in a slick, hardened claw. Though his claws aren't large enough to be cumbersome they're extremely sharp and see frequent use. His large pointed ears not only grant him extremely powerful hearing, but serve as indications to his mood. Much like a common dog, Loki's ears perk, droop and flatten back depending on his current emotion. Loki's teeth are sharpened into effective fangs. Like his claws, they aren't excessively large, though quite useful. His canine teeth are notably longer than the rest of his teeth. Loki's eyes are a vibrant purple, contrasted well by his greyish pale skin.

Loki's torso is littered with an impressive array of scars; an indication of his careless and violent past. Though his face and neck seem to have avoided any permenant gashes, just about every other bit of him is dotted with the ugly remnants of old wounds. The most prominent would be a large scar across his chest, thin clawmarks raking his forearms and several charred looking black scars. The largest of the charred scars are on his mid-back and the calf of his right leg.

Clothing: Loki dresses in all black all the time. This isn't the result of any gothic fashion statement; it's simply because black doesn't show blood stains. When you spend your free time hunting down and consuming humans, it's only logical to wear something that'll last. Loki's typical outfit is a long sleeved black shirt with a wide opening at the neck, long black pants, black boots and two belts. The belts he wears hang loosely around his waist and cross each other.

He also wears two pendants and a ring. In most of the drawings you'll see as references Loki is wearing one white pendant. Please be advised that he no longer wears that white pendant. His current jewelry consists of one large pewter cross pendant and one set of shined military-style dog tags with black rubber edges. On one dog tag is the text "Keep me close to your heart ~Niamh" and on the other is a celtic dog design with the name "Loki" in the middle. Loki also wears a celtic claddagh wedding band on his left ring finger.

When he's in town Loki has to cover up his most obvious lycan features. When away from the Temple he can typically be seen wearing a black knitted hat to cover his ears, black gloves, and occasionally a long black coat.

Personality: Loki's personality is really a mix of several things. The shortest, easiest way to sum him up would be wild, vicious, loyal and lazy. Loki's all about extremes, meaning you'll typically either find him in the dojo or in town madly tearing things apart, or lazing in his room doing absolutely nothing productive.

He's extremely devoted to Niamh and would do absolutely anything to protect her. When he's around her his wilder vicious side is essentially tamed. He's very caring and compassionate toward her (and nobody else). Though he's not as tough and dangerous as he once was, Loki's still very good at being a jerk most of the time. His favorite hobbies include: hunting and killing humans, insulting his friends, and eating raw meat to the extent his pants no longer fit (during which time he's typically found in his room with Niamh, whining for attention and tummy-rubbing). Loki tends to balance eating far too much food with drinking far too much liquor.

Most of Loki's notable quirks are very dog-like. Though he wouldn't admit it to most, he's a big fan of having his ears rubbed (only by Niamh). When hunting or exercising Loki typically runs on all fours. He's also able to interpret the actions and mannerisms of dogs far better than most programs.

Seth

Character's Setting: The Matrix Universe
Name: Seth
Race: Program
Age: 38 (Program Age. He appears to be in his late 20's)
Eye Color: Green
Hair Color: Black
Height: 5'7"

Appearance: Seth is essentially everything Loki isn't, though the two look like relatives. Most of the drawings I have of Seth depict him the way he used to look. He's no longer as sickly or pale as he appears in his drawings. He has a normal healthy skin tone now and doesn't dress in black all the time either. Seth's hair is short and well groomed, though it has a bit of messy poof to it that he's never able to fully control. He has bright emerald eyes and is clearly very timid. He's not muscular by any stretch of the imagination. It's very clear that Seth isn't a fighter.

Having shared the same body with Loki (see history) Seth has a lot of Loki's same scars. Since the pair was seperated Loki's continued to accumulate scars, so Seth has a few less than the lycan. In Seth's mind, the most notable scars are the long deep ones on his arms. These were inflicted by Loki as punishment back when they shared bodies. Seth is particularly embarassed by these scars and keeps them well covered.

Clothing: In most of my drawings, Seth is dressed in the same black outfit as Loki. He no longer wears that outfit. Seth's pretty much obsessed with the color green and can always be seen wearing it. His usual wardrobe consists of darker calming tones. Green, gray and white are probably his favorites. His most common outfit is a green short sleeved t-shirt with a large white star on the chest. Beneath the shirt is a gray shirt with long sleeves. With this he wears faded black jeans and sneakers.

One constant in Seth's attire is that he always keeps his arms covered to hide his scars. Seth also wears a white moonstone pendant.

Personality: Seth is very quiet and timid. He's good natured and thinks more about others than himself. He enjoys simple calming activities, like gardening and cooking. He's also a strict vegetarian.

Seth can usually be found relaxing in his room, reading up on gardening techniques or medicine (he's aspiring to be the Temple's' unofficial doctor) and petting his black and white cat, Renoir.

Despite his calm disposition, Seth isn't immune to fits of emotion and rage. On extremely rare occasions the little guy has snapped and lashed out against Loki. In these instances he's proved that his overwhelming knowledge of his much more powerful counterpart is actually enough to overpower the lycan.

Victor

Character's Setting: The Matrix Universe
Name: Victor
Race: Program
Age: unknown
Eye Color: Turqoise
Hair Color: White/Silver
Height: 5'11"

Appearance: Victor, unlike Loki, is a full-blooded standard werewolf. He's unlike most other lycans in the fact he's not terribly muscular and acts very refined. Victor has carefully styled silvery white hair swept back into smooth spikes. Like any self-respecting lycan, Victor has his fair share of scars, though not nearly as many as Loki. Along with a few scars across his chest and back, he has a rather deep one just above his left eyebrow.

Victor's lycan form looks very much like an anthromorphic wolf. (Somewhat similar in build to this. Please note, image is copyright Goldenwolf and is not owned by me). His fur is sleek and the same silvery color as his hair. The scar on his eyebrow is still vaguely visable. In this form he typically walks on all fours, though he's capable of walking upright.

Clothing: Victor is very fussy about his clothes. He goes to desperate measures to avoid staining his outfit and removes his shirt before involving himself in fights. He wears a white long-sleeved button-up shirt with black bands around the arms. These bands are part of the shirt, not actual bands wrapped around his arms. The shirt is typically left untucked and the buttons on the sleeve cuffs are usually left open. He also wears a loose black tie, black pants and shined black boots. It's extremely rare for Victor to be seen not smoking a cigarette.

Personality: Victor considers himself a gentleman before a lycan. He's very intelligent, analytical and professional. Though he's yet to mention his age in RP, he's an older program, undoubtedly from one of the earlier versions of the Matrix. Being an older program, he has full control over his lycan form and can change at will whenever he pleases.

Victor used to be an enemy to the Temple gang, but since the death of his previous employer he's reformed and is now an ally, proving that he is trustworthy by inviting Loki to visit his lycan pack regularly for training and offering his services where needed. (Victor is the head of a small werewolf pack).

Aries

Character's Setting: The Matrix Universe

Race: Werewolf Program

Description: Aries is a concentration of werewolf code locked away in the back of Loki's programming. On rare occasions, Loki will lose control and change into Aries. Aries' thoughts and actions are independant from Loki's and when Loki changes he has absolutely no control over the beast. Aries' primal urges fuel many of Loki's more basic instincts and actions.

Aries is nothing less than a killing machine. He's a hulking monster of a werewolf with black fur and vibrant purple eyes. The fur around his eyes and his underbelly is white. His claws are massive, as are his teeth. His markings are very similar to this (Please note, image is copyright bloodhound-omega and does not belong to me).

Aries is the one thing Loki fears above all else. When Aries takes control he attempts to destroy everything around him, including the people Loki cares about most.

Renoir

Description: Renoir is Seth's cat. Ren's mannerisms reflect Seth's quite a lot. He's both timid and affectionate. He's black with white tipped ears, a white tipped tail, white toes and a small white mark on his chest.

Appearance: Niamh is attractive and flirtatious. While she's definitely very 'cute', a lot of her charisma comes from her personality, which is very out-going and friendly. 'Bubbly' is a good word to describe her. She has silvery-grey hair, about mid-back length. It's not curly, but it does have a wave to it. She usually wears it loose, unless she's dressing up for a special occasion. While it occasionally falls in her face, she doesn't have bangs. Her eyes are also grey, and they appear to be slightly to large for her face; they're definitely her most prominent feature. Physically, she's in good shape, not stick-thin but healthy. Because of her somewhat rowdy lifestyle of late, she has a number of scars. Most notable are 5 long claw marks on her right side, the result of being swiped at by Aries (big bad werewolf), and a round scar on her upper-right thigh (right at her hip), about 4 inches in diameter. She also has a small tattoo, of a viking charm (Urnes Snakes, the Symbol of Loki) on her left hip.

Clothing: Niamh has a definite punk/goth/rave flavor to her clothing. Clingy or mesh tops, short skirts and knee-high boots are key pieces in her wardrobe. Her favorite color is purple, and consequently many of her clothes are as well, with black coming as a close runner-up. Her love of Hello Kitty and other cute things is also well-represented in her clothing. She has several pairs of HK pajamas, a winter hat with knitted ears, and other 'cutesy' items. Adult-sized footie pajamas would be a 'must buy' for her.
Niamh has two pyramidal pendants; one amethyst on a silver chain, one moonstone on a stainless steel chain. The two are identical except for the color, and were given to her by Loki and Seth respectively. She never takes them off. Her other piece of jewelry is a claddagh wedding ring, made of white gold with an amethyst stone.
She keeps a pair of matching throwing daggers in special sleeves in her boots at all times.

Personality: Bubbly is the best word for Niamh's personality. (Loki's used the word 'cheerleader' before.) She's very outgoing and very friendly, always ready to lend a hand and dedicated to making sure her friends and family are happy. That said, she has no problem resorting to violence if a loved one is in danger, and would sacrifice herself (particularly for Loki) without a second thought. She's fiercly devoted to anyone she gets close to, and is likewise very depressed when she can't be near them.

Isis

Character's Setting: The Matrix Universe
Name: Isis
Race: Program
Age: 242, appears early to mid 20s
Eye Color: Sapphire blue
Hair Color: Sapphire blue (slightly darker than eye color)

Appearance: Isis is physically more or less identical to Niamh (twin sisters!). Facially, they look the same, the chief difference between them is their different eye and hair colors. Isis is also slightly more muscular than Niamh, owing to her hours of physical training. It's not so much that she's thinner as it is her muscles are more defined (think aerobics instructor NOT body builder). Isis typically wears her hair pulled back in a ponytail, but when it's hanging free, it has the same wave that Niamh's does. Isis doesn't have bangs.

Clothing: Isis prefers functional clothing; she doesn't share her sister's affection for clinging or revealing items. Her typical outfit would consist of a tank top, cargo pants and boots. She isn't afraid to wear form-fitting clothing, though she may do so without realizing people might find her attractive. She can also frequently be found in workout gear (sports bra, yoga pants, etc.). She favors netural colors - brown, black, khaki - though she occasionally wears blue, which brings out her eyes.
When she does get dressed up (usually after a lot of pressure from Niamh), she's every bit as beautiful as her sister.
Isis wears no jewelry, though she does usually have a kubotan hanging from one of her belt loops. She also prefers to be armed; a micro-Uzi and a Glock 26 (9mm) are her near-constant companions.

Personality:Much more reserved than her sister, Isis prefers to approach things logically. This is partly because she's kind of shy, and partly because when she was reloaded to the Matrix, part of her code was damaged slightly; specifically the part that let her understand and freely expression emotions. She has a very difficult time admitting to being sad or frightened, to the point she started cutting herself rather than dealing with the emotions. The crush she developed on Seth was particularly hard on her, and she's still convinced to some extent that the pesky 'love' emotion is just some error in her code.
Because of her extreme emotional control, she was pegged to work for security for the organization that conspired to have her reloaded. Her drive and perfectionism allowed her to become very competent with tactics and battle planning; she can definitely keep a cool head in a stressful situation (though she tends to be rather cold and ruthless in the process).

Variant: Little Isis

For a brief time, Isis found herself in a different shell, essentially giving her the body and mannerisms of an eight-year-old girl. While she is no longer in this state, Lumi would still like to see pictures of her like this, because she was just hella cute. 4laugh

Hair color: Dark brown, with two blue streaks framing her face

Appearance: When she was 'small', Isis still looked very much like her adult self (and like Niamh), but in child form. Given her hair color and appearance, one might have mistaken her for Niamh and Seth's child. Her eyes, somewhat large on her as an adult, were even more pronounced. To prevent the little girl from drawing too much attention, her hair was made dark brown, though as a hint at her true persona, she still had two blue streaks in her hair on either side of her face.

Clothing: Niamh took on the responsibilty of buying most of Isis' clothes at this point, so the minaturized reaper was stuck with lots of 'cute' clothing. Even so, most of what she had still took into account she was a very active little girl - jeans, cargo pants, and t-shirts - much the same as her adult wardrobe. The main influence Niamh had would be seen in the cute bear designs on the shirts, or little embroidered flowers on the jeans.

Personality: Normally a very reserved adult, Isis found her inhibitions were very scaled back when she was in her child shell. As a result, she was much more outgoing and affectionate than her adult self would ever be. She had no problem going and climbing into Loki and Niamh's bed when she couldn't sleep, or holding Seth's hand everywhere she went. She was also prone to bursting into tears when people around her started yelling, and kicking people in the shin when they made her angry. Much like her sister, she developed a fascination with Loki's over-stuffed stomach and ears (or at least finally expressed this fascination). She took every opportunity to prod his stuffed tummy.
The little reaper also developed a strong attachment to a blue stuffed dog she named "Mr Peepers". He was essentially a 'security blanket'; something to replace the guns she couldn't carry as a child. The dog went everywhere she did during this time. Other toys she favored included crayons and Legos.

Appearance: Shaggy, straight fur; feet and ears a bit too big for his body.
Personality: Loveable, playful and friendly, Odin is the kind of dog who will sniff every stranger he meets on his daily walk, and then lick their hands. Even so, he's very protective of his 'family', especially Niamh. If she's ever threatened, he'll bristle and growl; he wouldn't hesitate to attack anyone who tried to hurt her. He recognizes Loki as his 'pack leader', and is relentlessly affectionate to the lycan despite Loki's less-than encouraging response.
Likes: Licking people, squeaky toys, playing in the snow, digging in the yard.
Dislikes: When people around him are sad.

Notes for those doing couples pictures of Loki and Niamh:
Loki and Niamh's love story is an odd one. It's quite possible she was the only program in the system, with her unusal patience and tolerance, who'd ever choose to try to start a relationship with the selfish, violent lycan. Her 'risk' paid off, due to her persistance, however, and after a bit of an uncomfortable start, the pair are now inseparable.
At first Loki (and everyone else) was utterly confused by the former reaper's interest in him. It was certainly something that had never happened before. Despite the lycan's initial lack of encouragement, Niamh made efforts to tag along on his liquor store robberies and human hunting. She persuaded him to teach her to shoot. She sat around drinking with him. Basically all the thing he enjoyed doing, no matter how 'unsavory', just for the opportunity to spend time with him. Eventually, and much to his surprise, Loki found himself wanting to protect the strange new girl. This, gradually, led to something deeper. Neither can imagine life without the other anymore.

One unusual aspect of the lycan and reaper's relationship is that Loki, vicious lycan, is perfectly tolerant of Niamh's affection for cute things. The lycan's stomach frequently doubles as a stage for little plays she puts on with her stuffed animals. Loki also engaged in some very cute behavior when around Isis in her child shell. Building a sand castle with the little girl was certainly not something he'd have considered before his relationship with Niamh.

Given Loki's carnal nature and Niamh's outgoing flirtatiousness, it isn't unusual for them to be kissing (necking, making out..) in public places, though not necessarily in front of other people. Loki was initially timid about showing any affection in front of others, but it's something he's gradually overcome. It's very safe to say they keep their favorite pastime for behind closed doors (though whether they're bedroom doors, car doors or public bathroom doors is harder to say...). That said, please don't spend your time drawing pr0n of the characters, because it isn't something Dante or Lumi are looking for. Cute pics are good, passionate pics are good, sexy pics are good, romantic pics are very good, R/NC17 graphic is not. Kthx. ^^;;

Originals Clothes guidelines and other clothing notes: Always wears glasses and a locket tied to a black ribbon choker, given to her by Heth. Usually wears gloves to keep her hands covered when in public settings. Almost always has a cigarette either lit and nearby, in her mouth, or in her hand. Prefers the colours white, black, or blue. Castore dresses in low back shirts (to allow use of her wings at a moments notice) but is (generally) fairly conversatively dressed. Some sexiness in clothing is more than allowed, but skankiness (Thongs sticking out of pants anyone?) would break the character's image. Castore also doesn't wear skirts/dresses often, though she will occassionally if skirt/dress is past knee length. Weaponry: Castore occassionally carries a Baby Desert Eagle in her white messenger bag.

Appearance: A fairly average looking woman, she has no overly remarkable features. Physically, she's slightly more bottom heavy than top. Exact measurements would be 34(B cup)-28-42 if that helps give you an idea. Castore has a tattoo on either shoulder-blade no more than three inches high and five wide. They are shaped like cherebic wings.These tattoos turn into wings, but Castore must activate a small portion of code to force her wings out. This happens by the skin near the tattoos twisting and stretching about into a new formation (Much like when an Agent takes over a human being in the film.) Her actual wings are no more than double the size of her tattoos (10 wide/long x6 in height at the most). When not in use, these wings convert back to their tattoo form, to keep them safe from someone who would want to remove them. As an interesting side note, Castore is asexual.

Personality:Castore is an odd mixture of conflicting personality traits, perhaps fittingly, since she is named after one of the Gemini twins. She can be quite sagely and well-versed when she wants to be, but quite often she speaks bluntly, not one for 'beating around the bush' as it were. Unlike Heth, she lacks even an outward confidence in herself and her abilities. Her inability to do domestic tasks such as cooking vexes her quite a bit. Even with her lack of confidence, Castore is (generally) cheerful. Castore is dependant upon Heth, and though she does not like to make it known to anyone, it's quite obvious.

Having few responsibilities while she was in service of the system, Castore has seen a lot of movies and television, and often makes pop culture references. She enjoys music quite a bit, and bathes more often than is sane for a program. Castore is also a chain smoker. She can be found without a cigarette, but it’s rare. Castore is fond of sweets such as candy (especially hard candy) but Heth doesn't allow her to indulge her sweet-tooth often, not wanting to be personally responsible for the after effects.

It has been recently discovered that the Castore program is a replacement for the Oracle,but that she is not 'ready' for several decades yet.

Expressions:Castore has a wide variety of emotions and expressions all of which are genuine, though her most notable is her grin, which is somewhat childish and very catlike.

Originals Clothes guidelines and other clothing notes:He is quite particular about his image. He’s the type to mess with his hair if even a few strands fall out of line, or straighten his tie if it strays a quarter inch out of alignment. He generally ONLY wears his "usual outfits"; he's not into casual dress or shopping. However, if you really want to do a picture that has nothing to do with any of the outfits linked above, keep these guidelines in mind: Heth always wears his hair parted on the left and combed back, and always wears 'formal' attire such as suits. The lowest on scale Heth would go is "semi-casual" (no Modern or cyber goth/rave/plaid/etc! Classic gothic {Suits,top hats, canes ETC} acceptable.) His Priest garb is Buddhist, not Christian. Weaponry: Heth always carries his Desert Eagle (Kept in a side holster on his right side, since he is left handed), and in his priest robes, carries a silver plated bladed Tessen (Japanese war fan) in his sleeve pockets. Neither of these weapons are visable unless Heth makes them so (Pulls them out or removes his suit jacket).

Appearance: Heth looks similar to Castore, though his features are much more masculine than hers are. After his rather unusual height, people tend to notice three other things about him: His nose, weight, and stare. Heth's nose is quite beakish (click for example). Heth is quite thin which is unusual for an ex-agent program. Heth has light to no muscle tone, which is probably for the better as if he did he would likely look like a walking skeleton. His fingers are quite spindly, and his legs gangly, with knobby knees. Heth has a very distinctive look about his eyes. He rarely smiles (reserving the use of such for only Castore and a selective few),preferring to keep his expression blank when he is 'relaxed'. His eyes give people the feeling that hes staring through them, and not at them, as if he looking for something on or in their personage, which proves to creep more than just a few people out. Heth has very deep set/aged eyes, which cause him to have light wrinkling between his nose and eyes shown here. Heth is also asexual.

Personality:Heth, like Castore, has several 'conflicting' personality traits. Being a former Agent leaves him with some less-than-pleasant mannerisms, such as sarcasm and aloofness. He appears confident, but really isn't. This false confidence is based on his knowledge. Can panic in unfamiliar situations,but even Heth's 'panic' state is low key and mostly internal. This state of panic has manifested itself more severely in situations of extreme emotional stress, leading to breakdowns. Castore has been the only one to witness these breakdowns. Though intelligent, his former ‘profession’ has left him quite naive about many aspects of life; especially those related to social interaction. He craves acceptance (tolerance,not friendship), but fears becoming dependant. His odd collection of mannerisms have caused him to become eccentric and have some very odd behavior around people he is comfortable with. From most to least, he is comfortable with: Castore,Niamh,Connie,Reese,Isis,Seth,Loki,Victor.

Secretly enjoys dancing, and although he enjoys music, his lack of musical-experience leaves 'something to be desired' to his tastes. Likes to read, mostly non-fiction. Also has a taste for good food, which has earned him the nickname "Greedy Monkey" from Castore (though he has perfect table manners), one of the nicer nicknames she's given him. Occasionally smokes a pipe ( [http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v178/cjheth/ocart/otherrefferences/pipe.jpg]click here for example ) or cigarettes. Keeps a pet rat named Lovelace whom he adores.

Until recently, Heth spent most of his time in his study reading, seeking ‘answers'. His answers came to him in an unexpected form,informing him that his reason for feeling out of place was that he is. He was not originally an agent, but a guardian program for Castore.

Expressions:Because of his lack of overly expressive emotions, Heth often wears these expressions: Blank face (most common), A look of disdain or boredom(second), A frown (third most common), A sly smirk (he knows what you don't want him to. ), A false polite smile, a very charismatic grin (when hes using his powers of persuasion.Think:Ewan McGregor), and last and least often: His genuine smile, a large dopey grin.

Notes: If you would like to draw Lovelace by herself, feel free. However, the prize for best use of Lovelace will also apply to pictures with Lovelace AND Heth in them, since Lovelace rarely leaves his presence. Also, drawing Lovelace in a picture does not qualify you for best pair, since Lovelace is far too small to consider a full character. Sorry. ^_^;

Relationship between the Heths: Castore and Heth's relationship can best be described as "love/hate". Heth and Castore are a duality program, or two peices/programs designed to counterbalance one another. While they have many similar traits, they also have many opposite ones that grate on each others nerves. They are not prone to public displays of affection, and it is not readily apparent to an outside viewer that they are anything more than friends. They often bicker like an old married couple. Mentally, Heth has placed Castore on a pedestal (unwillingly on her part) and refers to her as his "mistress", the old term for the female head of a household. He often does things that irritate her 'for her own good'. Sometimes he just irritates her to amuse himself.

Romantically, their relationship is best described as "storge love" (friendship that developed into love). Due to this, it is out of character for them to be pawing at one another like cats in heat, and it is best to take a 'sweeter' approuch method if you decide to draw an image which displays them in a romantic situation. Heth acts very much like a shy little boy who's got his first crush around Castore. Castore, being similarly shy, is not overtly sexual or blantent in her flirtations.

Usual Outfit: Something asian-inspired and stylish.

Appearance: Concordance, or Connie as she is called by her friends, has very elvish features which she took on when she joined with the temple the group lives in. As a result, she has long tapering ears that extend back and away from her head (think Lodoss War, rather than Lord of the Rings), leaf-green hair down to her waist, and golden, almond-shaped eyes. She has a very slender, willowy form with long graceful fingers and toes, small breasts and angular features. She moves with an almost uncanny grace. She also has a green jewel permanently in the middle of her forehead.

Clothing: Connie's favorite fashions are Asian-inspired; high collars, kimonos and sleek, modern designs are regulars in her wardrobe. She prefers things that are green, and is almost always wearing one item of green clothing. She also has a bit of flair for gothic clothing. Despite her peaceful, almost maternal nature, she appreciates high boots and leather skirts as much as the next a**-kicking elf. It's not unusual for her to combine the two; say a traditional chengosam dress with fishnet stockings underneath.
Occasionally, when she wants to conceal her elven features, she wears an Asian-style headband, which covers her forehead jewel as well as the points of her ears.

Personality: Concordance, being the oldest program at the Temple, became sort of the defacto 'mother' for the other programs. She projects an almost serene quality, and is always concerned for the well-being of her 'family'. She can take this to extremes at times, chastizing her 'children' when they misbehave. She rarely becomes truly angry, however, but when roused she can be quite intimidating. A standing Temple joke is 'Don't make Connie mad - she can set you on fire with her mind!' even though she really can't. (At least, we don't think she can...)
She is very inquisitive and enjoys meeting new people and being in new situations. Connie is also very compassionate and kind. She always seeks to help everyone around her that needs it. That doesn't mean she can't be rather opinionated, though. If she disagrees with you, she won't hesitate to let you know it.

Usual Outfit: As an Agent: The standard Agent suit. As a rogue program: Business-casual black pants, white dress shirts.

Appearance: As a former Agent, Reese was designed to look unremarkable, as all Agents do. He has short black hair, a strong jaw and is fairly tall. He isn't the type that would stand out in a crowd, which is as it should be for his former job. He is tall and broad-shouldered enough to be very intimidating, if he chooses to be. The most unusal feature of the former Agent is his eyes. Since he took on 'human' characteristics, the streaming green Matrix code in them has stopped, making them all black, with tiny green letters and symbols in them.

Clothing: When Reese was an Agent, he wore the standard Agent-style black suit, complete with sunglasses and ear piece. Even after he became a rogue program, he held onto his suit as something familiar to him. It wasn't until he had human characteristics introduced into his code that he started to branch out to more casual wear. The best description for his style would be business casual. He favors dark pants and white dress shirts with no tie or jacket, or more casual green long sleeved tops. As he's still becoming accustomed to the concept of 'clothing options', his dress is still rather conservative.

Personality: Only being a couple of years old, and relatively newly 'freed' from the System, Reese has some oddly childlike characteristics. This isn't to say he's immature, or particularly playful - he's more like a child in the sense of being curious about his surroundings, and not understanding the things people say and do. Angelus using the phrase 'he wanted to nail her', for example, caused Reese substantial confusion.
He tends to be serious, but he isn't without a sense of humor, even if it is still developing. When Loki was irritating him in the car, Reese swerved to miss a 'cat in the road' that apparently only he could see, causing the lycan to bang his head on the window. Reese has also been known to engage in water fights with Connie while doing the dishes.
His protective nature from his Agent days remains, though he's now interested in protecting his friends and loved ones rather than the System. He's comfortable using force to protect people, if necessary, though he doesn't take pleasure in it.
