You'd think that after a week, I'd have written more than like, 7 paragraphs, but man, I'm just being SUPER LAZY with always having to go to work recently.

Sort of yeah. I'm trying to make a setting where I can do some ADVENTURING on. Like... an RP world or something where I can just play my weak magician, preferably in a party of other weak character and go on adventures and whatnot. Because RPing with the (Lololololol) levi people get boring since they never post, the storylines go nowhere, and most people only play with a handful of other people with the whole I'll play in my own sandbox thing. Not really worth my time. I decided I might as well try to go out and see if I can find some random people to RP with.

Barton is always a disaster, so as lazy as I am and dont want to make something, I find it extremely difficult to look through a tonne of crappy and lame RPs that are clones of one another and have the exact same themes, and I should just make my own.

Elsi - OMFG! That's going to be so cute, I can't wait! rofl YAY!

Thanks for the WIP dear!
Ha, that's awesome. I've been working on my own campaign setting for a few days now for that very reason. Do you have a 'set' setting yet, or are you still designing? I do a lot of brainstorming in my free time, so I could pitch in if you need help here and there.

D: Yeah I kinda broke away from the "mainstream" despite posting in Levistad, which is about the only place I'll really still play, aside from my own bar if I get it up and moving again. Commerce is my usual place.

I post relatively quick 90% of the time, but I start to lose my drive when people take ages to post anything.

Anywho~ I have another post to write for you Kroww.
XD Berb.
Yeah, what I want to do is a traditional fantasy type of deal. Y'know, medieval-like, sword and sorcery kind of thing. But I want to put a sort of spin on it, but I'm not sure if it'd work so well. Like, a kind of bleak setting, almost dark fantasy, where magic is rare, theres a general moral ambiguity, and non humans are treated as second class citizens. That type of deal.

I got the general setting down, dont have fine write ups for geographical locations yet, but I'm not worried about that. First few adventures, missions, quests, whatever, will take place in the city and dungeons I can write easily like a dungeon crawl kind of adventure. I'll need to finish writing my primary city where it all begins first though, before I really figure out what else to do to it.

That sounds epic. o.o If you make it, I'll definitely poke my head in.
SECOND CLASS CITIZENS.
I'm suddenly seeing Warhammer Fantasy only without the vast Hordes of Chaos and general grimdark fantasy feel. That and Orks aren't killed on sight, just treated like serfs.

Magic is rare? Rare as in FF6 where mages are basically unheard of or like only certain areas possess magic, like leylines or something?
Rare like most of the magicians of the world were killed in a cataclysmic even 300 years ago because they did something stupid. So the art of magic hasnt really been passed down all that much. Its viewed as a dangerous tool and is shunned kind of deal.

Kind of like... the King Arthur Mythos? Theres like, Merlin, and Morgan le Fay that are the only magicians you see ever. Kind of the BURN THE WITCH deal.

'Cause I'm personally not interested in seeing every single character have some kind of can control ____ power and not only are they a master swordsman, they're also an archmage.

But I still dont know if such a bleak setting would really go over well.

What I've been building is completely opposite. Part science fiction, part fantasy, it's sort of a cyberpunk universe but space travel beyond anything about a fourth the size of our solar system is impossible. Basically, two planets and a large asteroid belt are colonized while the rest of the universe is an unknown.

Then I throw in Lovecraftian and Grimdark elements, underlying realities home to primordial energies, magic is tainted overall; any magic user is executed due to the corrupting and damaging nature. Blah blah blah.
Wait. Not so different really.

I like your magic idea though. Sounds kinda like Atlantis and some of the theories floating around about that.

I personally love bleak settings. Gaia's catch-all atmosphere is one of the reasons why I've been having a hard time getting back into roleplaying. It's not grim enough, too unrealistic. Like you said, with everybody already a master of everything from archmagery to the art of xylophone assassination, Gaia got too plain.
