Anything in the general style the characters wear works.
Like, for say, Lady Siri, jeans and a t-shirt would be entirely out of her character, but a different gown would work. 3nodding

Ooh. I love masquerades! <333 I soooo want to join. O: But….I have a few questions to ask first, before I can start on a picture. ^^;; I hope you won’t mind answering them? : D


1. Can a picture be eligible for many different categories at the same time, or can it be eligible for only one category in particular? And can it be eligible for both a major and minor category at the same time? Do we get to tell you which categories we’d like our picture to be considered for? And is every single picture submitted in automatically in the running for the “best overall” category?

2. And now, I have fallen in love with the idea of drawing your chars in a masquerade scenario, and when I read the line “often did those blue and grey eyes meet” in Lady Naita’s profile, I fell in love even more with the idea of drawing Eshal leading Naita out for a dance. But I need to know, firstly, if such a picture could be considerable for the “best pair” category, or is only the “advised” pairings allowable? And then, I need to know if something like this would ever even happen, and if such an incident is acceptable with you. Would Eshal ever actually lead Naita out for a dance? After all, if it’s something that goes against their characters and is something that would probably never happen, I shouldn’t draw such a picture, should I? (;

And then, if something like this is acceptable with you, I would like it if you could possibly give me a bit more description about Eshal? What would his hairstyle be like? His clothing style, and any special features about him? And then also, are we completely free to design what the other characters would be dressed like, or do you have a particular inclination towards how they should look? For example, is there a particular way you’d like Naita’s hair to be drawn or a particular color you’d like her dress to be in, or are we free to give it whatever hairdo and coloring we’d like? And the same with all your other chars: Linaia, Aelus, etc. Do you have particular preferences for how they should look? Or are we free to draw them in whatever different styles we wish to give them? And finally, would it be possible for the younger chars (Breena, Ceiba, etc.) to be in the same masque environment as the older ones? Or would it go against your storylines and the char’s characteristics, and thus make it unacceptable for you? And if it’s ok to draw them in the same, say, ballroom, can I also draw them in whatever finery I deem is nice for those young girls, or can I not?

Yes, yes, yes. xD
OK, long answers!

1. A pic can be applicable for more than one category. Minor and major, too, since I believe ye asked. <reads again>
2. In a dance held away from court they may dance, so if it were placed in The Manor or that sort of feeling, yes!
That would count towards best pair, too.
3. Eshal is blonde, with closely cropped hair, in the style of guards at the court the Siris are followers of. He would generally be wearing chainmail (that poor, poor man) as he is on constant duty to protect the King and his Regent. However, if in Port Gino, or The Manor, he would be likely to be wearing similar clothing to Aelus, though rather flashier, as he's not the wallflower Aelus aims to be.
As far as clothing, anything in the style they're accustomed to is fine by me! Lady Siri's rather traditional, Aelus rather worn and drab, Linaia more individual than her sister, and Breena, in her older years, much more inclined to a boastful degree of sexuality, and such.
As youngsters, Ceiba, Eydis or Breena are likely to be at the masques, though not past a certain hour for good habit, and for the adults to play. wink
