Kimmi:
Hello everyone and welcome to the second Mending Hearts contest. This is the second contest that Rje and I have run for Likereal and Dominique, we had so much fun last time that we decided that we should run another one for them this year! I'm really looking forward to it!

Rem:
We're trying something a little different for this contest. We're adding another character into the mix! I admit I've been throwing the idea around for a while now and I'm really curious what kind of things would happen. I'm evil, I know...I like putting my characters in those kinds of situations. Love triangles are good and so is drama. We're throwing in a wild card - Lucifer - who happens to be Dom's first love.

Kimmi:
Yes...so it was all Rem's evil plot to add a bit of a love triangle into the contest. A bit more spice and give it a difference which I'm all for...except that it is a bit of a danger to my health. Likereal hasn't been very happy with me for the last few months since he overheard us discussing the plot. So I'm putting all the blame firmly on Rem's shoulders for my own safety.

Rem:
That's okay I have broad shoulders, I can handle getting all the blame. Especially since it was originally my idea I guess. Anyway, since we're aware of the fact that some people don't like doing couple or group art this contest has multiple categories. From individual to couple to trio pictures of them, though of course keep in mind that since its majorly a love triangle contest. The most expensive prizes are for that and couples over the individuals. Though they're still more than adequate too

Kimmi:
Since the last one Likereal and Dominique are a little bit past their denial but still taking it slowly. But the good news is they arent oblivious to their feelings anymore and they've started along the road to intimacy and getting to know each other. The slowness cant be helped with Dominique's physical and emotional scars, he still isn't completely healed from his past but he's slowly getting there with Likereal's support and Likereal is happy to see Dom's progress but he's worried about what will happen when Dom doesn't need him anymore. Which is why the fact that Lucifer comes into it plays on his insecurities.

Rem:
We will be linking you to a few of their roleplays if you're interested in reading to get an idea on their adventures. Hopefully also - my time schedule permitting - will be RPing through out the contest like we did last year. Both randomly in the thread and adding to our still running other RPs in Kimmi's guild. So hang around the thread, bump, ask questions and chat with us! And most importantly have fun!

Likereal x Dominique:

Likereal loves Dominique very deeply, more deeply than he's loved anyone before. At the beginning he became attached to Dominique as you would an adorable but bedraggled puppy that you just cant stand seeing looking all hurt and dejected. His initial feelings were of helping him though there was something about him that just brought out feelings in him like no one else ever had - the urge to cherish, to protect, to care, to help heal - all his feelings had deepened almost without him noticing and he was too deep. They've been together for two years but they've gone very slowly, because of Dominique's fears and his past it progressed very slowly both of them are really only just coming to terms with their feelings and starting to get physical. Though that's not to say that there weren't moments here and there in their past since Likereal is a huge flirt...he can only go so long resisting with no other outlet since he's with Dominique almost 24/7 because of his fear of being abandoned. Likereal wants more than anything to help Dom heal emotionally completely but at the same time he fears the same thing - that once he's healed he'll decide he doesn't need him anymore.

Dominique was confused at first by his feelings, Likereal at first reminded him so much of Lucifer, someone he admired, loved and almost worshipped, but as time went on, he began to like Likereal for who he was, and stopped thinking he was Lucifer. Likereal makes Dominique happy, he does so many things for him, and helped bring him out of his shell, and gain control of the many demons in the boy's mind. Likereal brought out his first smile, his first attempts at being normal and Dominique is grateful and only wishes he could do something for the Fallen, be as important to Likereal as he himself is for Dom. Having thought he'd never want to be physically close to another person ever again because of his treatment during the war, suddenly he's having...thoughts he can't control about Likereal. They scare him, but intrigue him, and he wants to explore them, but part of him is afraid to. He doesn't want to lead Likereal on forever and worries the man will grow bored waiting for him to be normal, and leave. The thought terrifies him.

Dominique x Lucifer

Lucifer would normally feel contempt for half breeds but Dominique is one of those few people that reach beyond Lucifer's well-guarded shields. Before the war he regarded himself as something like a mentor for him, impressed by his thinking and tactical prowess. It was also rumored he loved Dominique's mother (he is not Dom's father, however) and mourned her death, a rarity. After the war, when he learned of Dom's capture and subsequent torture, his heart went out to the boy (was some of his feelings towards him borne of guilt? He would deny it, but it's hard to say) and he did the best he could to help Dominique become whole again. He knew of the boy's immense feelings towards him, and indulged them at his whim, thinking it charming, and cute. He was affectionate, though sometimes annoyed and impatient at Dom's limited recovery. Dominique is one of the few people that has ever made Lucifer laugh.

Dominique felt that Luce was his saviour. (Hah, irony!) A broken shell of his former self after his torture, Lucifer was the only one who treated him like he wasn't a freak, oftentimes being gruff with the boy in ways he needed. He spent almost his ever waking hour with Lucifer, sometimes just watching him work, and slowly started to come back together again, gaining ahold of his scattered mind to even sometimes have brief conversations. He realized soon before he was transported to the other world that he'd fallen in love with the Fallen angel, madly, hopelessly in love, and was going to tell him - but was captured again by a rogue band of demons who descended upon the castle. He saw Lucifer speared through the heart before he was taken away, and believed him dead, until he met Likereal. However, he soon understood Lucifer was really gone - or so he thought. His sudden appearance both overjoyed Dom and confused him, bringing all his old feelings back. Now he doesn't know what to think - he wants to be with Likereal...but Lucifer just makes him more confused.

Lucifer x Likereal

Lucifer normally would feel nothing for Likereal, being thrust into an unknown situation (another world) with someone who reminds him not only of who he used to be, in a way, but someone who's more in control, chafes him. They are like similar poles on a magnet, they deflect one another because of too many similarities. And while he would never admit it, he feels a jealousy at Likereal's closeness to Dominique, who was his charge, first. Lucifer is used to being obeyed, admired, or feared, but never held in contempt, and it galls him to no end. He picks at Likereal just to annoy him, because he can.

Likereal needless to say doesn't much like Lucifer for one main reason - he's just not coping very well with suddenly having to share Dominique with someone else. He's used to having Dom to himself and having someone show up all of a sudden and Dominique throws himself into his arms grated on him. It plays on his fear of Dom not needing him anymore and leaving him. He sees Luce as a rival and a pest - someone that he would rather disappeared and he doesn't exactly hide his feelings. Overall he's short and antagonistic towards him until Dominique asked him to try get along with Luce...and well he can't say no to those eyes so it becomes a bit of a more hidden rivalry.

Well it's up to you of course since you're the artist and it is good to give people the artistic freedom to do what they are inspired to do. As I've already mentioned there is a number of different kinds of pictures - individual, couple or group pictures.

I'm overall pretty flexible in general about art though I admit that one thing that is a must for me is doing your best to follow the character profiles. To capture them correctly in appearance and personality, though of course I dont mind some out of character-ness from time to time. If you want to run anything by us first dont be afraid to pm Kimmi (Rem will probably forget to reply).

Clothing and accessories, you're free to follow your artistic desires, I'm not really too fussy on those kinds of things but again you can pm Kimmi. Another thing is that backgrounds - even if its a splash of colour or a simplistic background - really does add a little something to a picture - so its appreciated but not necessary.


Realistic type poses or situations are good. Showing every day moments:

* Going on a date or all of them going together
* Cinema, fair, bowling, park/swings, picnic, playing in snow, restaurant
* Going shopping for clothes or other things
* Eating together (Dom likes eating especially deserts)
* Sitting watching movies/eating junk food

* Dominique being cuddled or carried around
* Walking together / holding hands

* Sleeping together
* Sitting or laying down talking
* Protective hugs, cuddling, kissing
* Dominique blushing (happens a lot)
* Likereal calming Dominique down
* Dominique brushing/playing with Likereals hair

* Battles/ Fighting - verbal or physical
* Arguments
* Both trying to win Dom
* Bribery
* Other fun love triangle things

Personality: Likereal is a regular bad boy, charmer and smooth talker, which he uses to get what he wants and pick up guys/girls. He is a huge flirt, heart-breaker and generally finds himself in trouble quite often. At times he changes personality and manner when it suits him and he can be cold and uncaring towards others. He keeps his feelings and emotions to himself as a rule though he's been mellowing a bit since he found Dominique. He has found himself being more open, smiling and generally enjoying himself while around Dominique, he makes him act like someone in love. He is infatuated and absorbed in the other male, he dislikes making him upset or unhappy.

Eyes: Very pale blue
Hair Color: Snow white with silver highlights
Hair Style: Layered a little around his face with bangs
Skin: Pale with a slightly rosy complexion
Height: 5 foot 9 inches
Build: Slim build

Pinky: He’s missing the tip of his right pinky finger (down to the first knuckle.)
Tattoo: Tattoo on his cheek is essential. Prefer the one on his lower right hip (that looks like a horned circle with a demon tail) to be shown if that area is visible.
Piercings: You can take some liberties as long as the necklace is there and at least one n****e piercing.
Scars If shirtless at least one of the 'tally mark' scars - the four slashes with a diagonal slash through it. He has these all over his body, but only one or two is needed.

Clothes: He likes to wear layers of clothes. Jeans, shirts, hoodies, sweaters, coats unless it's too hot or Likereal makes him take them off. Then he still will wear jeans and a light long-sleeved shirt, usually with a cute picture on the front, or striped sleeves - he loves cute things on his shirts. He also loves Converse sneakers too, in bright colors. He likes cute though he's recently started wearing some clothing that is a bit more elegant/dressy so you can put him in that. Or draw him half naked if you'd like.

Personality: Shy and sweet, he was often the shoulder that his sisters could cry on, always the one with a kind word when someone needed it. It wasn't that he was weak, or a push-over -- he was just a quiet, contemplative person and he often fell into silences that could last hours, simply daydreaming about this thing, or that. Coupled with his natural flightiness (he could forget his own head if it wasn't attached to his body) he was often regarded by his demonic family as 'slow' or 'dull-witted.' But that wasn't true, Dominique was as sharp as a tack, he was just -smart- and he would have been a brilliant tactician someday if he hadn't been captured and tortured until his will, body and mind was broken.

Now Dominique is broken, he is excessively shy and in a sense withdrawn. He is still very sweet and caring and loves flowers and other beautiful things, but he is ashamed of his body and at times gets upset with himself when he cant remember or understand something. Though time with Likereal has made him begin to smile and laugh again.

Clothes: He wears button ups - like, silk shirts open to show off his chest, and black dress slacks a lot. Colors: white, red, black. And sometimes a priest's collar if he's in his all black outfit, because it amuses him. All black outfit: black coat, black shirt and black pants, he always wears black leather gloves - but only in that outfit.

Personality: Lucifer is the epitome of self-control. His willpower is immense, and he can keep himself cool-headed and in control of any situation. He is dominant, though only domineering when the situation requires it, cool, calm and collected. He seems emotionless but that's not exactly true - he simply doesn't feel emotions unless he chooses to, he doesn't feel pain unless he chooses to. There are some situation though that cause him to think or feel something surprising - sometimes he is upset by this, sometimes he finds it intriguing and explores the situation. (An example could be falling in love - he would explore, and exploit, the situation like a scientist analyzing an experiment until the situation (or person) no longer intrigues him. He's left behind a long string of broken hearts in this manner.) He is not entirely without empathy though, especially for his kin (other Fallen.) He strives for perfection in everything he does, and is. The only thing that gets to him is reminders of who he used to be, and what happened to him.
