So I had one last fling playing with sprites today, and it's come out pretty damned nerdy... The second picture only makes sense in the context of the first, and even then, it doesn't actually make sense without a long convoluted explanation that doesn't actually relate to either picture... And the first one, well, that's only going to make sense for someone who's a nerd for old-school video games. Modern video games? Bah! Can't be assed. Side-scrollers? That's the way to be. So Senior Valo has a request on the list for a picture of him and his black M-2001 tank. Now, I was holding off the nerdiness, I was thinking 'Yeah, let somebody else draw a proper picture of it. It'll be fun.' but it's the last day of the contest and I told myself 'Okay, you can be a nerd now."
So the fact that the world of Gaia takes place in a kingdom of sprites always puts me in mind of the classics. These are definitely more than 8-bit of course, I would call them more like 16-bit sprites, so I've been wanting to play with doing some Gaia/Super Nintendo manips because, well, in my nerdiness, I thought it would be funny. So, the long and the short of it is
Super Battle Tank.
... Yeah... probably not as funny as it seemed in my head.
So then, time for another installment of 'You had to be there.' Tank makes me think of Tank-Cat names me think of 'One does not simply TANK-CAT into Mordor!' which originally started out as 'One does not simple ROCK into Mordor!' before it got completely out of hand... So then as I was washing up I got thinking of the rocking into Mordor thing... and naturally decided that I
had to do that one too...
So there we go! Some last-minute entries! Now I have a half hour till it's tomorrow and I'm kind of bored and flaky, maybe I'll play some more before I go down to bed... I'll look over the list again and see if I get inspired.
edit: Nevermind, looks like I've run out of time. Busy having deep, philisophical discussions about cartoons instead.
