Part of that's probably because I've have to take a couple college English classes.


Oooh, I just started reading the most amazing book. It was printed in 1927, and written in the 1860s, and it's a history of European morality.

I've only read the first few pages, but so far it looks wonderful - it's from Augustus to Charlemagne, so there isn't as much personal bias as there might be. The fad in upper-class education at the time was to treat absolutely everything as an interesting heathen oddity (even if it was Christian).

I find them anthropologically fascinating, especially how they've changed over time. And how they change between classes - that's actually interesting no matter the time period.
