Hello Aris, I would like to ask you a question or two about Rommie. - What does she spend the majority of her free time doing? - Would she ever be working on fixing any parts of the ship she pilots? or is that more the job of someone else? - Do you have, or know where I could find, a good reference for what the ship looks like? biggrin |

When she's not working, she'll probably go out sightseeing, find a local bar for a drink or a game of pool, or play cards with her fellow crew members. Sometimes she may just sit in the cockpit and stargaze while listening to loud music. ::not sure if that's helpful?:: XD - The mechanic is a separate character who takes care of fixing the ship. Rommie might have rudimentary knowledge of the workings, but she's by no means as trained as the ship's mechanic. xD - Unfortunately, I don't have any pictures of the ship. ;_; I didn't create the design for the ship, and the person who did has no schematics drawn for it. However, for the purposes of this contest, if you like you can use references for Serenity, the ship from the show Firefly, instead. It's from the same universe and they're both transport class vessels, so it's close enough for me. <3 I've uploaded some Serenity refs here of the outside, cockpit and hallways, if you'd like to take a look at them: http://s302.photobucket.com/albums/nn102/arisartcontest/firefly/ EDIT: I'd also like to say.. Dude...I am so entering this eek . (I co-run the ACL by the way, well, lately it's just been me sweatdrop ) But aw man, and most of the characters are female (sucks at drawin guys). The prizes make me tear And just browsin' over the first page your characters look interesting to boot! Okay, because I'm an over-achiever, I know for alot of contests people are really lookin' for that one particular piece when they give away those top prizes. Or sometimes they include sub-characters that aren't the main topics of the contest. I should probalby READ the first page but, do you favor any of the characaters over the others? Or it just goes to the most awesome piece, period? Bit of a rant there, sorry. I'll go add your contest to the ACL listing now ^_^ |

I'll go add your contest to the ACL listing now ^_^ All of my characters are fairly equal in my heart, so what's most important to me is the quality of the piece and if it 'feels' like the character, at least for my 'personal choice' category. As for the top three prizes; as stated in the FAQ, the winners for the top three prizes will be chosen not only by me, but with the help of a few of my friends, and it won't just be about any particular factor, we'll be looking for several things in the winning piece. 3nodding Also, YES. Zyis - I totally agree with Aris, definately see the series! I saw the movie first, and not even in the theatre, on DVD. I thought it was gonna be really bad 'cuz I had never heard of the series before....then I saw the series....freakin' awesome. If you liked the movie there's no way you won't like the series *nod*
