I have a random collection of illuminations from medieval bibles on my desktop now right next to the reindeer refs. My folder of reference images is such a weird collection of schtuff.

Force of habit means I started look up antler-ed dudes in mythology. :B So far all I've turned up that fits is a Celtic god by the name of Cernunnos and the English ghost Herne the Hunter. There's other HORNED gods, but I'm having trouble finding many big-time guys with straight-up antlers. Probably need to go hit up some Norse stuff next.

Norse mythology has been dead endish so far. There's a stag that eats the branches of the world tree and the dew that forms on his antlers falls and creates huge rivers, and some dude name Freyr killed a giant with the antler of a hart, but my primitive form of 'research' (aka Google) hasn't turned up diddly else. :<
