1)
Only enter this contest if you are okay with your art being used for illustrations in our card game! If you have any issues or questions about this, you are welcome to PM Penden or Songjewel.
2)
Only submit your own work! Art thieves will be reported to moderators and disqualified from further entry. You are welcome to collaborate with someone, but both names must be on the submission form and it is up to you to split the prize if you win something. If you are not clear on what constitutes art theft, go to
http://www.candycornstudios.com/ArtistAlley and listen to the art theft episode.
3)
Your submission must be a (G to PG-13) illustration of an Item or Character card. If you are making up a new one, be sure to put that in your entry form. It's a family game.
4)
How many times can I enter? You may enter as many times as you want. There is NO penalty for multiple submissions; each entry is judged on its own merit and is equally eligible for prizes, no matter who drew it.
5)
How many prizes can I win? Each entry can win up to 2 prizes, but Grand, First, Second, and Third will each go to separate entries. An entry cannot win first and second prize!
6)
Which card do you like the best? I want to draw that one! We don’t have a favorite card. An Item picture is just as likely to win Grand prize as a Character card, so be creative and draw what you like!
7)
Entries should have a blank (white or transparent) background. It’s a lot harder to work around the background on a card, and it detracts attention from the main subject. Therefore, you should focus your effort on the subject of the card and not on putting them in a scene.
8 )
Your submission should be between 500x500 and 800x800 pixels. Any smaller or larger and it becomes very difficult to fit it onto a card without horribly disfiguring your art. And let’s face it; horrible disfigurement is bad for everyone involved.
9)
When submitting your image, name it correctly! Your file should be called “YourNameHere_entrysubject.jpg” where YourNameHere is your Gaia Screen name and entrysubject is the same thing you put in the entry form for Card Name.
10)
Images should be in a common format. For instance, PNG, JPG, and GIF are common formats for smaller sized files.
11)
Character card alignments should be obvious. Keep in mind that characters will have a simplified alignment: good, or bad. Use traditional alignments as guidelines. Don't draw a vampire who looks like a good-guy.
12)
Simplified, comical pictures are best for the feel of the game. If your entry is used for a card, it will be scaled down.
13)
Can I submit work that I did for somebody else? No. You should not submit art that was not made for this contest. That is unfair to the person you did the art for, and we want to see your most recent work.
14)
OMG my entry isn't listed! We'll post when we update the photobucket account or the advertising points. If you entry is after our last update announcement, then don't sweat it. If we really have missed something, post here again or PM us WITH A LINK to the post with your entry form.
15)
Use the entry form! Post it in this thread! Thanks.

Contest Ends May 13th 2007 No extentions for work in progress! Don't start too late or make a super-detailed entry the size of the galaxy. Thanks.
