Hello! Welcome to the XTC Art Contest, hosted by Gaia's T-squared duo, Cecilia Davidson and Sifen Yamishi!!

The contest surrounds an idea for a romantic slice-of-life comic we plan on calling TRANSFER.
Start-out plot is as follows
(Secretly crossdressing and openly queer) boy -Alex/Alicia- is friends with a girl nicknamed Mike.
Mike attempts suicide due to (later revealed) family and religious pressures -
which brings to light that Mike is female-to-male transgender.
Alicia supports Mike through the beginnings of transition.
Alicia realizes she's falling for Mike.
And then things get crazy.

The setting is high school, so they still have to follow school protocol for attire. However, Alicia has to stick with a masculine attire while Mike (born Michelle - the nickname is from preschool), after petitioning the school with his mom and some understanding friends, is allowed to wear clothing fitting the men's attire protocol.

The prizes are pretty big, so we're hoping to see some good stuff. Last time I (Cecilia) ran a contest, my ex and I got some extraordinary art and we gave away over 2 million in prizes!


Some might be asking ... Why XTC?
Well, because Sifen and I are Boys Noize fans and that was the name of one of the latest singles he's released.

We are asking that you post/PM (preferably PM) your entries to Cecilia Davidson prior to
January 31st, 2013, should the world not end by December 21st.
We will release winner names February 7, 2013

STYLES/EXPECTATIONS
We are looking more for couples pics than singles, but we don't mind getting pictures of just one character or the other.
All styles accepted, but we lean shoujo style.
Base avatar use is fine but only given certain situations (intimate scenes or pictures looking into the daily prep of the characters, such as Alicia's preparing for a school day, or scenes of personal reflection)

RULES
They're pretty fokken simple.

(A-1) Treat us kindly, we treat you kindly.
(A-2) Gaia's rules are our rules. The forum's rules are our rules.

(B-1) Alicia is to be drawn as a rather feminine guy (whether he has a more emphasized girl appearance is up to the artist).
(B-2) Mike is to be drawn as having an androgynous body that leans towards masculine (whether binding of chest is exposed - as in the actual binding, not tits - is up to the artist).

(C) No theft.

(D) Official entries are to be within the rules of Gaia Online's content rules. Anything NSFW may be submitted privately but, though welcome, will likely not be shared on this page or listed as finalists.

(E) As noted in the References section, we are not asking that you be absolutely strict with the references outside of body shape and the base. We're looking more into style and mood.

(F) Should we deem it necessary, we will ask for guest judges to help.

The references you'll use, though you don't have to strictly stick with them. They're more like guidelines to bounce ideas off of.


ALICIA'S REFS
Alicia is a blonde-haired, blue-eyed, freckled wallflower who gets chatty when it's a subject she likes - EDM, memes, classic rock, games, Whose Line, and so on. She's inclined to be impulsive and loud, only to become extraordinarily embarrassed of her behavior right after and having to fight the urge to repeatedly apologize. Don't piss her off, though, because she will go mama bear on your a**.

One of her main complaints at times is that she has absolutely horrible upper body strength, but she is also a regular runner (5Ks), so her legs have some definition, though not much. Currently she weighs in at 170 lbs, though her 5'6" frame means she has to deal with a muffin top by a slow change in her diet. However, she isn't by any means athletic.

Her father didn't like the idea of her being gay, and he doesn't know about her being a crossdresser ... Doesn't help, either, that she's still reeling from her mother's losing a fight with lymphoma.

MIKE'S REFS
Mike always felt something was wrong but couldn't put his finger on it ... until he talked it out with his mom and friend after a suicide attempt. "I feel like a boy wearing a skirt..."

His psychologist mother, though slowly coming to terms with her "daughter" being transgender, didn't know what to do, while a completely absent father, who he cut out of his life years ago, had rejected Mike as his own child. Several harassing remarks from people in the church who didn't understand why Mike felt wrong wearing a Sunday dress just made things worse...

Brown eyes, black hair, a slight mean streak but never intending harm, Mike is one to put up a fight to protect friends. His self-image problems haunt him now and then, thanks to the varied forms of harassment that still come up. He is 5'7" and 130 lbs with a slim frame and, like Alicia, dealing with a muffin top, doing cardio and crunches to get rid of it - however, he is not athletic and has to deal with being out of breath during gym.
(Contrary to the references, the scar, which was the result of an attempted mugging several years back, should be over Mike's LEFT eye)
