Anime style is totally ok! : D I really enjoy a lot of anime artist's works for sure C: I've commissioned a ton of anime artists with real money, so I definitely like it for my characters :3 It's not a bad style at all as long as it's your own I think!

Ha ha I know seriously, I am feeling loads better after showering and getting coffee though, which is excellent! I alwaaaaays have more coffee than water in my system ha ha. I drink so much of it it's probably (most definitely) unhealthy. Not to mention I work at a dunkin' donuts oh god.

Yay for coffeeblood 8DD!! And donutblood? xDDDD It SOUNDS like a fabulous job, but then I'm sure the unhealthiness quotient comes in. Yeaaah, I would definitely have a problem not scarfing all the donuts in the place xD I used to work at a place where if the cookies got warped or broken in the process of making/baking them, they were up for grabs by the workers. Oh how uncarefully I baked 8DDDDDDDDD ahahah jk. But. Srsly. XD

And good about the style. Woohh I was worried. Your style is so cool, but I was worried because I could tryyy something in the vein of cool-not-anime, but I just know it would be tinged with anime in some way xDD

I love the drawing classes at my college, but I'm afraid of painting (which I'll be taking the semester after next).

Oh no, not donutblood ha ha, I try to stay faaarrrr away from the donuts because oh god I would eat all of them and it would not be good ha ha. We have cookies at the coffee shop I work at, but they're nowhere near as delicious as like, bakery cookies. Now I want to make cookieeessssss ha ha

I know a lot of museums around here offer life drawing classes on weekends, which is nice if you're feeling rusty C: But ahhh I see, that sucks! For some reason there's an art museum in the town next to mine ha ha, it's kind of random, but good! Aw don't be afraid of painting! Painting can be a great stress reliever, and it's a nice way to practice color C: I will also admit to not being crazy about painting myself, but it's sort of useful xDDD I'm sure you'll like it!

I guess just lots and lots of practice. I used to draw all anime style all the time though, but when I got to art school I kind of threw it all out the window and tried drawing more from life. After drawing from life a lot it becomes much easier to cartoon figures, I noticed. But yeah, I take plenty and plenty of art classes xD I'm a senior at art school, and I'm majoring in Illustration. I was all self taught before that, but, I dunno, all my art before college is horrible so I'm not that proud of it ha ha

And now I want cookies, too. Shooooot man I need to lose weight before going back to school ahahaar *been spoiled by having actual FOOD around my hometown house xDDD yay for college ramen and canned soup OTL OTL OTL*

And oh man, practice! I really do need to practice more. I get really discouraged during the summer because of the low resources of my hometown, when I know at college I'll have an easier time and it's a matter of waiting @__@ Though I really wish I had gone to art college. I thought I wanted to be a pre-medical track student at first, and from there I've changed majors so many times it's more pathetic than funny xD;;; Finally I decided to be an art major. But now... now I wonder if going to art school would be better than taking art classes at a state university. ARGH. (I would be a senior this year, but with all my mess-ups I'm looking at another year of being a junior OTL!!!!)

Are you going to be solely publishing your comic after you graduate? Or... well... what plans do you have? One reason I was always afraid of art school is that I didn't feel I would be prepared enough, even artistically, for the professional world. Now I just feel stupid and wish I had gone to art school OTL;; Oh well, I guess I had some good philosophy and art history classes. But. But still! heart

Ahhh those subway cookies always look amazing oh man. Oh god I totally know how you feel lol, I always loose weigh at school and then come home and get delicious fatty yummy foods and it's baaadddd. I need my rice and turkey meatballs to stay somewhat thinner baaahhhhhh ha ha

I can understand that! I feel the same way, there's a lot of resources at school that I don't get here, but I try to use the internet as much as I can xD I reference a lot of stock photos and 3D pose websites to make up for a lack of live models. But also, the summer is totally an excuse to ignore the pressure of perfect finished pieces, wonderful compositions and all that stuff! I just like drawing for fun ahhhh, so nice. Aw :C That seems like it would be hard. You could always go to graduate school for art to try and learn more? But I know a lot of people majoring in art at state schools, and they really like it because they feel more well rounded. Oh and yeah, I have tons of friends that should have graduated YEARS ago. Switching majors and schools is really hard.

I think the major difference between art college and other colleges with art majors is mostly preparation for an art career and having professional artists as teachers. Which might not even be true, this is just what I've noticed. If you try your best and are confident about your artwork then I'm sure you could be a pro C:

As for my comic, at my school our senior year is working on a project that will help us get out into the art world (along with other classes). We have to pitch our idea to the department heads, and I pitched creating the first issue of my comic the first half of the year, and the second issue the second half of the year and they approved it. I'm going to be self-publishing the first issue by the end of this year, and I'll probably put out a few issues to local comic shops and such. I'm also publishing through LuLu.com, so people can buy the comic on there too! It's exciting, but yes, very scary. I plan on applying at animation and video game companies along with the comic. I know people at Harmonix who were pretty interested in my stuff so it's pretty exciting!
