Hey there, Girls and Guys! Imbri here, with my very FIRST Art Contest! (Exciting, no?) I've had numerous art request threads, and been a part of group contests in the past, but this is the first run and funded souly by myself!

Why now? Well, it'll be a combination of things. The first weekend of May I will OFFICIALLY be a college graduate, on June 25th I'll celebrate my 24th birthday and on July 2nd I will have been a member of the Gaia community for 5 years (Time sure flies). So to celebrate these milestones, I'm throwing an art contest!

The name of the contest is Classically Sexy. Why you ask? Good question!

Because of the movie Enchanted, I've become interested in the Art Nouveau style and want some pieces done in that style.

For no real reason I've also become interested in PinUp art and would like art done in the retro/Pin up-esque style.

Can't do Art Nouveau or don't feel comfortable with PinUp? Never fear! All art forms are accepted and the grand prize may go to any style!

In each section for the subjects to be drawn it will give which characters to us for which style, but again, feel free to do anything you want!

And of course, have fun! Chat, RP, go crazy!

5. Artistic/Tasteful nudity IS accepted (and encouraged for the Pin-Up section). There may be a section it is not accepted in, but will be noted in bright green.
5a. IF you submit a piece with nudity in it either (a) PM it to HachiMule (this is one of the ONLY circumstances you may send a PM) or (b) Submit it under a LINK and provide a warning.
6. Don't submit stolen Art. Art theft is a BIG no-no.
7. Be nice and respect others.
8. No whining or dissing your own or others work. In the same spirit, please do NOT fish for compliments.
9. You can enter as many pieces as you want.
9a. Grand and Runner up, Best Art Nouveau and Best Pin up are considered "Major" prizes and the rest are "Minor" prizes. You may enter as many times as you want, but will only win up to One major prize or two minor prizes. Also, the same entry cannot win more than one prize.
10. Breaking the rules may result in disqualification/banning from the thread, at my discrestion.

Background: Mag just has far too much time on her hands. She loves to make costumes from her favorite characters, and even more she enjoys wearing them around. Her other hobby is dressing up OTHER people, the first victim is normally her boyfriend. She is often around Imbri ("The Mother", later post) and is her polar opposite. She's got the attention span of a goldfish, is rather irrisponsible and laughs easily.

When she cosplays she does NOT dye her hair, but she does style it after the character. So if you draw her, please make sure to color her hair a red-brown and shoulder lenght, like the examples. She doesn't even have to have her hair styled like the character, and if you choose to give her her natural hair, it's slightly curley/wavey.

As far as outfits go for her, it is pretty much free reign. She is a cosplayer, so there's no telling what she'll show up in, or you can draw her as a mermaid, anything is fine. =D

Background: The Amazonian's hardly needed protection, and so Eurydice and her clan were more members of the Warrior woman, rather than protectors. They made fierce warriors and loyal friends. When Goliath and his clan were cursed, it affected Eurydice and her clan as well. They woke up some time after Goliath's clan and moved from the Islands to Athens and now act as a sort of vigilantes there.

Background:Arista is pretty crazy, she looks evil and stuff,
but she's not at all, just a littlle lonely. She has a twin sister, and while her twin's wings are strong enough to carry her above water, Arista's aren't, she just uses them for gliding through the water. She's a deep sea creature, and her whole
body is much longer then a normal mer's, partly for survival and partly from the dragon aspect

A poor family to begin with, the loss of her eldest child has been very difficult on this girl's father as he now scrapes by to put food on the table.
  
  Though she tries to be a dutiful daughter, this child has the heart of a fighter and a yearning for a less mundane life.

• Appearance:Bottom half is the Eastern Coral Snake, top is human, he never wears a shirt, on his shoulders and around his eyes he has red, yellow and black scales. He has small fangs that aren't very noticable. Nyoka has "snakebite" piercings (two piercings in his bottom lip, where fangs would be at). He has horns, bigger than his mother's (Imbri) and pointy ears.
  
• Distinguishing marks:The Eastern Coral Snake, or Micrurus fulvius fulvius if you want it's scientific name, has an average length around 20 inches. The skin is bright with alternating red, yellow and black bands around the body. The red bands touch the yellow bands. In contrast, the coral snake's non-venomous look-alikes, the scarlet kingsnake and the scarlet snake, have bands of black between their bands of yellow and red. Coral snakes usually have a black nose. Coral snakes are usually secretive, so their habitats are places like under leaves or mulch and in logs or stumps, and even among blades of lawn grass. Their fangs are fixed front fangs (non-erectile), and they have primarily neurotoxic venom which affects the nervous system (lovely...). This snake is related to the Old World cobras, kraits and mambas. While their disposition is rather mild, these snakes can bite when least expected, hanging on and chewing their fangs into the flesh. The can however, inject venom from a single strike without chewing.

• Talent: Ability to phase through objects/become intangible, also a very weak mind projection ability (can make people see images/hear her voice in their minds/dreamlike, but they have to be in asleep or VERY spaced out for her to do it, if the person responds, she can hear them as well ).
  
• Appearance: Short red hair, which she rarely spikes, so is always falling in her eyes. Very dark eyes, with an almost purple look to them and a very deep piercing look. Approximetly 5' 6''. Fairly curvy body. Although she is outdoors quite often, she is very very pale. Almost always barefoot. Always has glasses on, as well as a silver ring on her right middle finger. She has small horns, and in the under corner of her left eye is a cresent moon mark.
  
• Personality:To most, she seems rather cold, if not downright inapproachable. She feels that, most of the time she has no need of people and shuts them out of her life. Imbri is anything but normal, as much as she tries to pass it off. She can sarcastic and nasty or cold and silent. With a considerable amount of work, one could get close to her, and she would still be distant. She also tries to be as 'ladylike' as possible, wearing skirts and old fashioned/Regency era style dresses. She gives no large outburst, she rarely laughs or even smiles and has a graceful manner in moving (even if her personality lacks it).
  
• Background: For the first part of her life, Imbri lived with her parents, the NightMare Imbrium (whom she is named after), and her father, Deja Human (whose talent is to see the future). The two met at a love spring and because of its...'compeling' nature, they summoned the stork and 9 months later little Imbri came along. NightMares are dream equines who deliver bad dreams to deserving sleepers. They have a bad reputation, but are only doing a necessary job. They travel only at night, and their hoofprints are maps of the moon with the moon features associated with individual mares highlighted.Night mares can travel almost anywhere, and evidence of their presence has been noted in nocturnal Mundania. NightMares do not have a soul, so Little Imbri ended up with only half a soul. When Imbri was in her teenage years, her mother left, deciding she had taken enough time from her job. After her mother left, Imbri got angry and left home and Xanth altogether. She came to Gaia, and has resided there peacfully for years. She has several adopted children who live with.

Her hair is styled in a bun with ringlets hanging down from the bun.
Personality: Belisma is very prissy and a little snotty. Some feel she would have been better suited in Slytherin.

Lei wears a traditional Korean hanbok styled robe, the jacket part yellow with golden trim and the skirt is white.
  
• Personality: She's very meek and loves attention. Recently she's started to become interested in boys and flirts alot, much to her sister's distress.
  
• Background: Lei is Avani's younger sister, and until very recently, when a traveling healer helped improve her health, she was very homebound. She kept the house as clean and nice as she could, under their poor circumstances.
  
  Like any little sister, she wants to see her older sister to be happy and although it's made her life a little harder, she's supported Avani in everything she does.

Prism is my fantasy ice/water/air Mage Character. Her outfit can be changed but have it overall fit the theme, and please if possible have part of her sword showing (if FB) unless you are focusing on her water / ice abilities.


Prism grew up in a family of merchants who were well off enough to send Prism to school at a young age. As she grew up and started to read more and came across books of magic and science. She grew fascinated with them and did well in her studies. At the age of ten she was invited to join a school of mages to perfect her abilites and fighting skills. The catch was that afterwards she would serve the local king, who in her mind was a tyrant. So before graduation she took off and ran away. Most believe she was killed in the deadly forest / traps that surrounded the school / "prison" in her mind. However, she is still wanted in most territories surrounding her home village.

Prism now takes on odd jobs in small villages for a living. She does pretty well, but is too afraid that if she settles down she will be caught and forced to return to serve that tyrant. Prism is strong enough to take on the guards, but she fears that if the king finds out she is alive, he will not go after her but her family and anywhere she has been in order to get to her.

Her basic abilities are Ice, Water and Wind. She can pull off flying for a little bit, but not for too long. She is also very well trained with swords and has an old sword her father gave her before taking off for mage school. It is adorned with sapphires and is a bit heavy but very well kept and made.
