Announcement : Well Chie and I are back! And it looks like Ike is heading to Mexico! So on the 12th the contest will end. WIPS will be due on the 12th and give a one week extension.

Announcement : August 27th 2008.
With the coming of Hurricane Gustav there will probably be an extension of the contest. (Chie and I live in a suburb of New Orleans) It depends on how bad it is and how long we are out of power. Right now most of the models show it coming our way. Also Chie maybe evacuating to a different location. So we are unsure weather or not to extend it and for how long. We will let you know Friday August 29th. Which is the anniversary of Katrina.

The best couple doesn't nessisarily have to be a couple per say but any two characters that know eachother and are drawn together qualify for this catagory. Just be sure not to mix up Kia's OCs and our dollies. (Except for Nadeshiko who is both a doll and an OC)

Best Group
A group consists of three or more characters drawn together. It can be just about any three as long as they make sense. For example, you wouldn't see Zoey and Zaydin hanging out with Elliot but Ringo Yuri and Pandora hang out all the time.

Bio: It happened on her 16th birthday, many, many years ago. She did not expect things to turn out this way, not even in her worst nightmares. Everyday of her young life had been a joy. She did not know sadness. Her parents never allowed her to experience it. The lovely princess Kisara was loved by everyone. Or so she thought. It was not until she felt him push her off the stones on top of Hollow Bastion that she felt so sad. It was not until she turned her head while she fell to look up to the almighty figure she had always loved so much, that he was a shrinking subject, both in size as in occupying her heart. He had lured her to the top tower, pretending to have a wonderful birthday gift waiting for her. She never felt so excited, but moments later her heart broke when she fell down the floating castle. She fell and fell... and seconds seemed years full of misery. How could a father do this to his own blood?
One of the castle guards found her fragile and beautiful but lifeless body floating down the river beneath the castle. Her long hair had been surrounding her remains as a preserving and protecting dark web. Horror struck he had pulled her out of the stream and brought her up to the gateways of Hollow Bastion. But no answer came. Suspecting treachery and blinded by her beauty, the guard threw off his weaponry, deserting his duty and loyalty to the King, and headed for the nearby town. The sudden and suspicious death of the beloved princess stirred all emotions. The people cried out in woe, but the King ignored them forcefully. He had tried to retrieve the body from the town, but the former castle guard was indefatigable and guarded the corpse of the dead girl with all his might and power. Years later he would tell everyone who wanted to hear, that the night he brought the princess to town, he had seen a shining light emerging from her body. It had been hovering just inches above her heart for a couple of seconds and then disappeared into thin air.
Against the King's wishes the people had buried the princess near the river where the guard had found her. They put her in a coffin decorated with ruby stones the miners had found nearby and marked the place by planting the most colorful flowers and plants upon it. Years went by as the place of the grave grew to be a lovely oasis in a land that became shadowy and sinister as Darkness invaded it. One day her last resting place was disturbed as terror afflicted everything.
But then, when a young man named Sora saved the world with the help of his friends, the light that had gone out, resurrected, and shined upon everything and everyone. The luminosity reached the disturbed coffin and in a miraculous, imperturbable moment it brought back the soul of the lovely girl before her body returned to the healed world of the living out of the gray ashes that reminded of her sad past. She awoke in her coffin, confused and scared as a newborn. Yet, just like a newborn, the princess was not aware of her former life, she did not recall any of her memories. Kisara sadly did not know what happiness was, nor did she know how betrayal of a close one meant.
She had raised herself out of the oppressing small wooden tomb and looked around. Everything was shining and glistening in the golden nursing sunlight. Unwittingly about what to do next, she had been wandering around a little, not daring to leave the place of the coffin. There was a pastoral stream near the spot, and she had waded through it, splashing herself and the white exuberant dress she wore, that had been covered in a thick layer of dust, like a toddler. The clean water and the different kinds of red and green fruit she picked from the trees and bushes did not satisfy the hunger she experienced. Desperate for food, she risked leaving the secure feeling of the place she awoke at and headed northwards, without having any sense of direction. It so happened the way she went led her to the remains and ruins of the old town she had been brought in by the guard. The place buzzed of people building pretty houses, planting lovely flowers and plants, harvesting shiny fruits and vegetables and feeding big healthy animals. Every second, it seemed the ruins faded away bit by bit as the citizens kept working harder and harder.
As Kisara carefully walked past the houses and their inhabitants, lots of heads turned around and lots of eyes were staring at her noticeable appearance, dressed in her large white gown, her head encircled by her long, fierce and radiant red hair. Suddenly, a woman ran up to her, smiling broadly. She took Kisara by her arm and pulled her along to a cosy little farmhouse, where she filled her stomach with several delicious dishes and where she received some spare clothes that were undoubtely from one of her grown-up children. It was as if the woman understood Kisara though they did not really talk. And once the former princess was fully satisfied, the woman allowed her to walk away from the city, without questioning her or expecting a favor in return.
She walked for a few days, feeling as free as a bird, enjoying the beautiful nature and living with it in full harmony. Until, on the fourth day, she tripped over what she thought to be a root at first glance. A closer look, when she was sitting on the ground after crawling to the cause of her fall, told her it was a giant key. She took the key with both hands and the world seemed to immerse itself into silence, as dancing spots of light glowed upon her face and a sudden warmth overwhelmed her. At that very moment, Kisara understood she would not let go of the key for a very long time.

Later in life Kisara becomes the mother to (Oldest) Elliot, and (Youngest) Nadeshiko Bastion. The children have no idea who they're father is. (Kisara with Caspian) But he is known to have beautiful grey eyes and jet black hair. Elliot only saw him once before Nadeshiko was born...

The sound of many clicking heels walking up and down the hallway. Ringing through her ears, as if trying to sing a busy song. Kura yawned almost dozing off. Her history of magic class was boring, and she had found a way to prop her book up enough to make it look like she was paying attention. Of course the teacher was smarter than that. And she ended up with a bump on her head. The red head rubbed the lump groaning. Her cloak swished around her as she turned the corner running right into a student. " ACK!"

Appearance: Long red hair usually held up into a high pony tail. Kura wears a tank top type shirt with netting selves an a red heart on the chest. The back of the shirt has a Dark blue pair of wings on the back. Kura also wears her ninja headband around her waist. Along with this set of pants. It is the winged ninja headband much like the Gaian one. As you can see the pants example I have is a pair of normal pants. But Kura also has One side holster for weapons.
Personality: Kura is a bit childish in her own way. She is easily insulted when someone makes fun of her chest size and has a height complex.
Weapon: Kunais , Summon scrolls.
Skills:

Illusionary no Jutsu : Illusionary powers over objects. An Example could be making a normal leaf headband change it's carvings. Winged Ninja changing to the Konoha leaf.

Tschika no Jutsu : She also has the power to minipulate soild ground into making walls. But that technique is still yet to be mastered and often flaws.

Hikari no Jutsu : A normal technique used to blind other ninja's. Most likely used for escape purposes.

History: She is also from an illusion clan that has been disappearing and dying off due to the purges of war during the waring ages. In her clan she is often looked down upon as the weakest.

Though she is known as the weakest. Her powers of illusion are amazing. Secrecy of the Winged Task if in High priority. Using her powers she is able to mask all the members with in a 25 mile radius's headbands with the regular Konoha leaf. She can also cover various tracks.

Bio : Kura really isn't anything special at first sight. Her bloodline limit can make flowers and seeds sprout. so the last 100 years her family has only worked in a florist shoppe. But Kura decided to break away from that and become a ninja. After many arguments with he father he finally gave in and let her attend ninja school. upon this he gave h er a strange ruby pendant with a center that glows gold with certain emotions flow through her.

Alice and Roxas where both adopted from a orphanage> While Alice is blonde and Roxas has jet black hair, her natural color is jet black.

Her best friend is Zoey. And although she thinks Yuki is a bit odd. She really enjoys chatting about dresses with him. She really has no opinion about Zaydin, and Korah.

Dislikes : Everyone, especially Zaydin.

Roxas considers Zaydin his number one enemy, No matter what situation. Zoey...he's okay with Zoey. And Yuki...Yuki just creeps him out. It's probably the only thing he is afraid of.

She is a rose Goblin who hides among Kia's house hold to avoid other goblins who seek to destroy the last of the Bastions. Which makes poor little Nadeshiko the victim of post of her plots. Unfortunately she often fails and the evil plan end up back firing.

The Twins
<Zaydin and Zoey>

Zaydin is the elder of a set of fraternal twins, one boy and one girl both redheads of varying shades. (And he was my first doll!) He’s a pretty laid back guy who frequently listens to his Pink Floyd CDs while partaking in a few less than legal activities. He doesn’t like to think very hard and most of his actions are based on whims. For example, when he was still in grade school he decided to become a vegetarian. Not for any health or ethical reasons but just because.

Neither of the twins can remember their mother, Naomi very well and Zaydin less than Zoey. What they do remember is the hard life they faced after she died. Traveling from home to home and town to town they’re currently living in the home of their current guardian Mandy. (Who they ignore for the most part ^^; )

Zaydin is rarely if ever seen in bright colors. He mostly wears shades of black, green, and brown, although I've managed to get him in white a few times. As much as he denies it, Zaydin's really a nerd at heart. He loves computer games and recently aquired his very own D&D 3.5 edition books. Although unfortunatly he's heard that 4.0 is coming out soon and is demanding those as well. =_=

Zoey has a rather tricky personality. She has the facade she shows the world and then her real self hidden away. To look at her one would think she's nothing more than a clueless bubble-head when in reality she knows exactly what's going on and uses her 'stupidity' to get her way. She's not as naieve as she pretends to be.

Her only family is her twin brother Zaydin and she likes it that way. The two were alone for such a long time they have a hard time letting others get close, especially Zoey. Although Zoey has another reason for being so reclusive. Ever since she could remember she's had the ability to see ghosts and aparitions that others could not. Recently her abilities have grown stronger to the point where other psycic powers are manifesting themselves such as predictive capabilities and weak telekenisis.

She, like her brother, enjoys darker colors although she tends to stay away from earthy tones, prefering shades of purple and black. She's pretty much always seen wearing her star necklace, the only gift she still has from her mother, or so she thinks.

The Prince and Princess
<Korah and Yukiko>

Korah, a six winged Tenshi, first heard that he was to be betrothed to Yukiko-hime shortly after the princess’ birth. The young prince was less than excited to hear that he was to marry one of the much-despised demonic Oni, even if she was a princess and refused as best as a four year old could. His parents merely patted him on the head and sent him grumbling off to his lessons. The incident was soon forgotten until a fateful late night trip for a glass of water where a young Seraphim overheard something he should not have. The adults were all crowded around his father’s desk arguing. Confused Korah behind a tapestry he snuck into his father’s study after the last of the elders took their leave to investigate. On top of a large stack of papers was a picture of a young girl with large pink eyes, her skin as white as snow. He could feel his heart warming just looking at her youthful visage and flipped the photo over to see if it bore a name, what he saw unsettled him to his core. Yukiko-hime Age 4. Beneath this were official looking documents all bearing his father’s signature. Quickly scanning them he read the words, ‘..false betrothal..’, and ‘..assassination of the demonic king, queen, and child prince.’ Prince? He swallowed and tucked the photograph into his robes and quickly scurried out of the room without his water.

Many years later when battle broke out in the halls of Yukiko's palace Korah was there fighting at the front, for the Oni. At the battle's end both sides took heavy losses and neither really had the right to claim 'victory'. Korah had taken injuries but the worst was to his now useless left eye. Unashamed of his decision he went to his father who was furious at his tratorous son. As punishment he ordered Korah's wings to be removed by force leaving six bloody holes in his back.

Korah is a fairly serious individual but has a very strong sense of right and wrong. (Which is why he tried to go to Yukiko's aid when the fighting broke out ^^<3) As far as clothing goes he tends to keep things simple. When he's not in his hakama he's usually in something semi-dressy with a simple design and a solid color. Patterns are a no no.

First let me clarify one thing, Yukiko-hime is a boy! He just dresses like a girl ^^<3

A demon 'princess' who was born a prince; Yukiko's parents decided to raise their infant son as a girl in the hope that they could trick their angelic neighbors into allowing their prince to marry the demon 'princess' in an effort to end the eternal war plauging their nations. Yukiko grew with the knowledge that he was to marry the Angelic Prince Korah but wasn't told the true reason for the bethrothal, an opportunity to assasinate the angelic rulers and their son. Years passed until the day came, Yuki's 14th birthday and the eve of his 'wedding' to the Angelic prince. He would have none of it and that very evening fled his palace home under the cover of night. By the time the alarm sounded many dead and dying already littered the palace grounds and Yukiko-hime was already very far away.

Yukiko definatly feels more comfortable in dresses, pretty lacy frilly dresses. Even when his true gender is revealed he still continues to crossdress. He makes an attempt to wear 'boy' clothes but it doesn't work out very well ^^;; (Expect a photostory depicting this!)

The Tinies
<Ringo and Yuri>

Ringo. When Yukiko-hime disappeared from their world and the war broke out within the palace halls He was there. He found Ringo hiding beneath a table with his little hands clamped tightly over his ears to block the sounds of battle ringing throughout the corridors. After gently tapping him on his shoulder He told Ringo that if he loved his princess he would find her and keep her safe until He could come for her. Ringo had never seen this young man before today and expected that he never would again. He was gravely injured and didn’t look like he would last much longer with crimson staining his once finely polished armor. And so with no reason other than that, Ringo left as the man once again headed off to do battle.

Yuri is a small cherub slightly shorter than Ringo. She traveled with Korah when he left on his journey to find Yukiko-hime and has grown quite attached to him over the years. She is a very quiet and shy girl, very very quiet actually. Yuri, unfortunatly, is unable to speak verbally and has been that way since birth. When her condition was discovered she was immediatly made an outcast. Who ever heard of an angel who couldn't sing? Korah heard of her plight and took her under his wings so to speak when she was three.

Through the wonders of the internet, yes even cherubs can use the net, Yuri found a nice penpal with a pixie named Christy. (And another pic of Christy.) They frequently write eachother via snail mail and are pretty close friends. Christy is Yuri's only friend aside from Ringo that's her size. This year Christy is going as Minnie Mouse for Halloween.

The Naiad
<Pandora>

Pandora was the last of her kind, a young Eleionomae Naiad (marsh nymph) alone save for the creatures of her marsh. That is, until she met her. Ciel was a young moon elf sorceror that often traveled down from her home in the mountains to the marsh that was Pan's home, much to her elder sister's dismay. Their encounter was brief, consisting of only a few short evenings but it would leave a lasting impression on them both. Pandora had begun to fade and disapear from this world as had the rest of her kind had before her. The young moon elf, as unlikely as it would seem had become good friends with the young Pandora and cast a spell upon her, sealing her in a magical box until a time where the magic that sustained her was once again strong. And so he waited, for the day that he could open Pandora's box.

Recently she met a very spunky boy named Kaylen who is under the impression that Pan is made out of candy. XD He has some very interesting ideas about things and Pandora being rather gullbile and naieve about the world around her believes every word he says. ^^;;; Another pic of Kaylen.

The Zombie
<Toshio>

Toshio is a doll that doesn't exist yet.. but will some day! I would really love for him to be a part of this contest so I'm including a nice little description of him here as well as a photoshoped image of a lati green Ronnie (the mold Toshio will be) to the left. ^^<3

As stated above, Toshio is a zombie, a very cute adorable zombie who likes hugs and has a fear of chickens. He was created by a rather morbid necromancer and had the corners of his mouth sliced so that he could scream louder during his torment. Nice ne? His mouth has since been stitched up with rough black stitches. His eyes are cloudy white ringed in black and have a glazed over look to them and his skin is equally pale and has a greyish tint to it. He has shaggy black hair that brushes his shoulders and a 'tramp stamp' of a barcode on his lower back. Despite his wide 'grin' he almost always looks sad and his eyes have this bad habit of leaking a bloody red substance.

Being named after the 'cat boy' from The Grudge, Toshio has a real aafinity for cats and has a zombie kitty (ie patchwork) plushie named Jynx. (I plan on making him one so use your imagination! Maybe I'll make your Jynx!)

As far as how tall he is, he's about four centimeters taller than Pandora. Clothing.. I'm not exactly sure how he's going to dress yet but I imagine he'll be wearing normal little boy clothes and kinda have a skateborder feel to him.

Out of ideas? Can't think of what to draw? The following list may help give you an idea or two of what to draw in reguards to Chie's dolls. You are by no means restricted to these ideas but I thought it might help inspire some people ^^<3

- Zaydin sleeping with Mark the moose.

- Zoey playing with her tarot cards, maybe giving someone a reading.

- Korah bowing before Yukiko-hime or doing something romantical. (Feel free to do some smexy man love but keep it PG-13! And remember Korah is a few years older than Yuki ^^)

- Yuri and some of the other teenies and tinies having a plushy teaparty.

- Any of the doll's backstories. Like Zoey and Zaydin listening to their mother read a story. (Their mother looked kinda like this. They were four when she died) Yukiko escaping from the palace under the cover of night or Ringo or Korah in the battle that followed.


- Korah when he still had his six wings. (He had them during the battle, they weren't removed until after.)

- Any of the adult/teenaged characters as children or the child characters as adults/teenagers.

- Zoey experimenting with her telekinesis or telepathic powers.

- Pandora in her swamp.. or really Pandora and anything to do with water would be nice. ^^<3

- Pandora playing with her friend Kaylen. (He's the green haired one on the left)

- Pandora dressed in FRUiTS style clothing.

- Yuri as Alice and Ringo as the White Rabbit. (That's what they went as for Halloween.)

- POCKY - Pocky is amazing, pocky is wonderful, pocky is love. Draw anyone and everyone with Pocky! Maybe you'll be the one to decide what everyone's favorite is ^^<3
