I've found that even though you're just one person, and you can't exactly change the world or fix all the little (and big) problems in it, there are still ways you can try and make it a better place.
I'm not talking about fixing global warming by yourself, or ending world hunger, or anything like that, stuff that is ridiculously impossible for just one person to do.
I mean just doing what you can when you can. I really don't mean to sound too goodie-goodie here, but it's kind of the truth. Just doing small things like helping out friends or acquaintances, or maybe volunteering if you're into that kind of thing, and you have the time for it~
Whatever make you go to bed at night, feeling like you did something good that day.
Or you could just continue on with your life the way it is, and let time erode those feelings. That's a bit harder, I think, even though you're passively smothering the feelings instead of actively going at it.
Either way, I've only found those two possibilities as a way to avoid it.

Sorry, I'm really not trying to sound so goodie-goodie or anything like that, or talk like I've got some enlightenment, but. . .
Those are really the only two alternatives I've found, especially when your thoughts get you down.
