Welcome to my contest!
This is my very first art contest and I'm rather excited to be holding it. I've been planning this contest for over a year now, and now I finally have it ready to go.

I'm happy to introduce you to my characters and some things about the story in which they come from. A story that I've been working on for ten years now and still I've never actually gotten any art of the characters and its time to change that.
A very basic description of the story would be that it is a sci-fi/fantasy story and it has many different types of people and creatures perpetuating it. Including humans, vampires, were-wolves, were-cats, dragons, dryads, various extra-terrestrial beings, along with a bizarre host of gods. The main characters in this story are a dragon-human crossbreed, a vampire, and a demi-god.

I spent a lot of time creating background information for the universe in which this story takes place and for my dragon-human cross-breeds, the annlan, I even created a language that I have a small dictionary of words in so far. I'm adding to it all the time, and I hope for it to grow into a very large one with which you'd actually be able to converse in it. It's not that far yet, but perhaps someday. Even the title of this contest is written in the annlan language. But all this dialog here probably isn't so interesting as the characters themselves so lets get on with it shall we? I hope to see some wonderful entries <3

Because I only got about half of the minimum required entries into the contest, I had to alter the prizes. I really hated to do this.. but I wasn't going to end the contest until I got 40 entries.. but it would be pointless to keep extending into infinity, since that would just annoy people. Single Character
This is rather self explanatory.
Although as a suggestion you could draw the character doing something that they enjoy. For example, Amaeku likes to play the harp, and Salen is quite the bookworm. You can also just draw whatever you think the character might like to do or how you see the character. I'm pretty open with this ^ ^

Couple/group
I'd like to get some Amaeku x Salen and some Amaeku x Vaeru pics as well as some of all three of them together. They can also be paired with characters in the extras category of side characters from the story, though those are just friendship or hate relationships. I would also love to receive some art of Amaeku with Salen when she was still a child, because she met him briefly while she was about 7 years old and took a nap in his lap.(he was already an adult at the time)

Crack Pairings
Whoo~ and for one of my favorite categories ever we have the crack pairings!
Which means pairings that they are totally OOC and would never actually happen lol.
Things I'd like to see in this category are things such as Salen x Vaeru, any of the characters and one of your own characters or any characters belonging to my friends. Fandom stuff too.. like for example I happen to really like yugioh characters, but I have a wide taste in anime and if there is something you would like to draw just ask me about it. Also the sexier you make any crack pairings the better ;3 I love me some sexy stuff. Yaoi/Yuri/Het any of it is all good with me heart (however since this site is PG13, if you have a plan for something that would not be allowed on gaia please talk with me about it)

*side note: The clothing that the characters can be put in ranges from medieval to scifi styles. There is no set dress code or distinction in the story. As parts of it take place in very different settings, such as a space station, an old empire, a modern type setting. So clothing designs for the characters are completely up to the artist.

Build: Well toned and slim
Species: Annlan (human-dragon crossbreed)
Physical description:
In her human form she has fair skin, although it tends to be tanned as she spends a lot of time in the sun. She has white, waist length, slightly curly hair. She has bright blue eyes and a slender, well toned body with a modest bust size. In her annlan form she has golden skin, a long dragon tail, wings, and claws. Her ears, fingers and toes become elongated as well.
Personality and Background:
She is a very active outgoing person, but is very cautious around people she doesn't know, as she doesn't trust people easily or quickly having suffered many terrible things during her life because of the cruelty of others. She is rather well adjusted considering that early in life she witnessed the brutal murders of her parents and was a child slave for a period of time. She particularly enjoys music and knows how to play the harp and also sings often in her spare time. She is also decent in sword-fighting and enjoys riding her motorcycle.
Love interest: She is in love with Salen, although she does have love feelings for Vaeru and those cause some internal conflicts for her.

Physical description:Salen has shoulder length light golden blond hair with soft curls. He has soft delicate features. His eyes are a piercing dark blue.
Personality and Background:He is a rather bookish person and tends to lose track of time being consumed in study of various subjects. He will avoid speaking about his past as there are a lot of things hes done that he is not proud of and he suffered a lot of tragic things very early in his life with his family. He tends to be well spoken and acts the gentleman. He has excellent swordmanship with a longsword.
Love interest: He is in love with Killa and had to struggle with himself to accept that because of various circumstances that made his love for her difficult.

Sex: male
Height: 6'2"
Weight: 165lbs
Eye Color: Crimson
Hair Color: Dark brown, almost black
Skin: Light with a slight reddish tint to it
Build: Very slim and lanky
Species: Exact species is unknown but he is a type of demi-god
Physical description: Vaeru is tall and more slender than he looks as though he should be. His hair is long and straight, and reaches down a little past his waist. His eyes are a smoldering crimson and he usually has a very cruel look to them. He wears lots of silver jewelry whatever he can get his hands on and he changes them out frequently. He also has large feathered wings that are a bloody crimson color, similar to his eye color.
Personality and Background: He is very vicious and thinks nothing of randomly killing people on a whim. He used to have a much softer and gentler personality but he feels as though he was betrayed by the gods and seeks revenge for these grievances.
Love interest: He is hopelessly in love with Amaeku although he has no chance of ever winning her heart, but his obsession with her is twisted and he would take her by force if necessary.

Amaeku's friends(there are a lot so I'm only going to include the more important ones)
Treela-- Amaeku's bestfriend. She is a feline anthro with dark fur and golden-green eyes and a mau-like face.
Bren-- Amaeku's adoptive brother. He is a wolf anthro with chestnut fur and dark brown eyes. He hates Salen with a passion.
Eegian Rivnell-- A rich vampire who had many slaves and bought Amaeku after her parents were murdered by slave traders. (he was killed while she was still a child, but she saw him as a father figure and was very traumatized by his death)

Salen's friends
Alantra-- Not exactly a friend of his but rather an old lover. She is also a vampire and she hates Amaeku and blames her for Salen leaving her, even though he left her long before he ever met her. She has brown hair and green eyes.
Lily Turcha-- Salen's older sister. She died when he was a little boy, but he was very attached to her. She wasn't actually related to him as she was the daughter of his mother's first husband. Lily had long blonde hair and pale blue eyes.

(Vaeru doesn't have any friends just subordinates that are non-consequential)
