Looking for critique. Since this was done with no refs for lighting, I'm not sure if it's very accurate. I penciled it in then inked it, but I'm curious what others think. Be as harsh as you like. smile

The detailing is phenomenal as per usual with you, the face does look slightly cartoonish to me unless that was the look you were going for. It might me more of the mouth than anything, it doesn't seem to fit in with the cat as a whole.

I was thinking about it after I made that last post, I think exaggerated or jovial would be better words. I figured the cat was meant to look sinister, but the mouth seems to not fit the overall look. I suggest using some real world cat photos to get a decent feel of how you want it to be if you're trying to find some middle ground.

Exaggerated isn't a bad description for the mouth. A cat (I do have furball who sheds like a blizzard) isn't realistically going to be able to pull their mouth into the shape I want. American McGee's Cheshire is closer, but I don't want that much tooth showing. Sinister, not demonic. It's an odd line to tread, though... I might be able to put more menace into the eyes, though, to make it look less jovial.
