The darkness of the image on the baby's shirt take the eye away from the baby's face, which is the focal point. I would reccomend working on your form shading a little bit more. What you're doing now is good, but it's a little basic.

yeah, i thought that as well, but thanks for the tips ;3! ill try that more next time..
i always forget about focus points, it drives me insane haha.
but ive only been learning portraits for 3 months, so im doing pretty good id say.
