Made with ink and multiliners. I spent far to much time on this... silly thing.

Arabian/Indian inspired elf.

Made as a prize for a contest on SPX/Stockholm International Comics Festival this coming weekend. It will be framed and given to the winner of my studio's "Name The Pony" contest. ^^

Here's a bigger version, so you can see the details better.
The variety of textures and embroidery give it a feel of authenticity. (Of course, I know you're well researched when it comes to costume).

I'd like to see more of that carry into the dagger. Either way, it's a nice design. Very lively.

How long did it take? (Probably still fast compared to most. Haha.)

I wanted the dagger simple because otherwise it will be too much clutter.

It took about 3 and a half hours to finish.
Oh gosh! *-*

When I looked at it, I couldn't even tell it was traditional! And the detailed designs are just exceptional. <3 How do you manage to make it so clean?

What size paper did you use? For all that intricate detail, I'd have to work on huge a** paper to keep from everything bleeding into itself.

I sketch it in blue pencil, then I ink it and then scan it in in black and white. Which cleans away the blue pencil.

Then I clean up the dirt in Photoshop and resize it. Et voila! Done!

A4 (8.27 × 11.69 inches), you know... the papers I showed you when you were over.

I know what you normally use. I was just curious if you work bigger when you have more minute detail. (Seeing if I'm not the only one that needs to. Haha.)

Nope, same old paper size for me.

I work with art, so one sort of learn how to work fast. Otherwise you would never get anything done. Thank you for liking it.

I have the impression that things at the top are very well hierarchy-ised but at the bottom the eye gets lost, too many strong, bold lines on things that are supposed to be in the background.

Otherwise it's very nice.
