i'm so glad i feed my cats a good pet food now. all that stuff sounds awful.

Yeah, Innova is a good brand. The food that seems to be gaining the most rapid popularity is orijen as it is a completely grain-free kibble and people that still only mainly feed high quality wet or people trying to get close to raw but still feed a kibble for convenience like orijen.

The cool thing about orijen (and I'm sure Innova compared to any corn/wheat food) is that people say you actually use less food because the cats are satisfied and filled with good nutrition long before hey would eating a high corn/grain food since they can't use all the carbs and they end up in the litter box. So even though the food is more expensive a lot of people are reporting breaking even in cost with their previous brands (of course, these people were probably already feeding a slightly more expensive food compared to grocery brands).

i'd been reading about orijen on that cat site but i haven't seen it in any stores around here. i think that's true about the cats being satisfied longer with this food. i only feed the cats wet cat food as a treat but i might try to give them more of it when we move.

I never even thought about it but ex-rooomie and designer cat owner, and budding horse nutrition specialist saves money by buying her food on sale and in bulk on petfooddirect.com since she only feeds EVO (high end Innova) canned as she is one of the people who doesn't believe in kibble at all. I foresee her eventually moving to a raw diet when she has the money and becomes more confident that she can make a raw diet without bacteria contamination.

I do see a lot of the logic of wet only, our first cat had a lot of urinary problems that wouldn't have been as severe if he hadn't hated wet food. Of course, he was in his late teens when he had to "go to a farm" but even our vet said getting him to eat wet would help.

i'm usually pretty good at changing my addresses. i need to send in my subscription for national geographic this week so i'll just give them the new address. and i'll have to update my other magazine subscription. i'm just always afraid of losing important mail.
