Paint that goes on canvas, paper or cardboard before you paint. I'm not sure why you use it. whether to stop the paint sinking in, to give it texture, to make the paper stop curling or all of the above, but my teacher is adamant that I have to use it, so I do. But it takes too long to dry ]=

My guess is that it gives you a better surface on which to paint as well as helps preserves the paint. Like... you use it on walls before you paint them and the color after goes on easier and brighter, and it wont flake off or crack after.
