Your style is very unique so maybe people aren't used to it, you know?
Many people like that anime/cute thing deal - especially when it comes to chibis.

And lots of people go crazy over that HQ/semi-real stuff...
I know certain "styles" are popular so unless someone is super unique people are either curious or turned off by it.

And I'm pretty good with realism with traditional, I've been doing some practicing with digital realism though.

Yeah! I can tell that you're trying out a ton of stuff.
One thing that I can say is that when you're doing creases in clothing is to make them look natural!
To make them look more realistic you can try using less static horizontal lines and more swooping, crescent-shaped lines to make them look more delicate, especially for a dress!
Other than that - I personally think your chibis are cute, no matter what anyone says!
