Welcome to Gaia! ::

I've seen many people doing it and I was just curious.

Q. Why was my art taken down (rejected)? I didn't steal it.
A. Most likely your art was found to be copied or traced from a pre-existing source. When images are rejected the message you receive is a general one. You should receive another PM stating why it was rejected, whether it be traced, copied or stolen.

So yes, tracing is always against rules.
Tracing is against the rules no matter what site you post to and its very much hated by a lot of artists and its the quickest way to have a lot of people angry with you. Real drawing work is rewarded, no matter if you think you are good enough or you think you are not good enough, there is something to be said about people who do their own work.

Yes, it is against the rules.
duh.

What if you drew something and somebody decided to rip it off?

And now, I shall shamelessly promote my shop.
none of my stuff is traced.

Shop lifting is "against the rules", too and still people do it all the time. But that doesn't make it right.
Of course it is, if you see one report it

Tracing is copy...
yes it is, report people doing it
