What are some good Anime shows to watch?

I am actually watching Afro Samurai right now and i am also into Blood +
Everyone's always talking about Death Note and Naruto but i'm just not into trying to watch them because they are so popular and probably overrated.

Does anyone know some good shows that are bloody and gory with a lot of fighting, or something worth watching?

Wolf's Rain is fanatastic. Soul Eater is fawesome even before everybody bandwagoned. Death Note too. How long has that been out and now everyone loves it? Definetely Bleach as well. Its hyped for a reason. I just discovered Eden of the East and it great too. ninja xd

Hellsing and Highschool of thd Dead have a darker more Blood and Gore aspect to them.

Hetalia LOL. But I also like Durarara!! even though both of my fav animes appear in like, Adult Swim.LOL. Fruits Basket and xxxHolic are also good. I have tons of good anime(s) to watch, but I don't feel like listing 'em all.... sweatdrop

Honestly, with as little bias as I can muster, Death Note is not overrated in the least. If you want something dramatic and cerebral, I highly recommend it.
