Im sure this has been asked before but what do you prefer? Subs or Dubs?

Personally I typically prefer anime in original Japanese with fan subs.

I prefer fan subs because they usually include extra stuff and they're just better. I hate big company subs when they import shows into the states, and I almost always hate dubs. The Japanese voice acting is usually a lot better or the English voice acting just blows. There are however a few shows I prefer in English such as Cowboy Bebop, Trigun, and Samurai Champloo to name a few. The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzamia was pretty good in English too.

I think it depends on the anime.

Miyazaki's films are dubbed really well (the ones I've seen, anyway), so I usually watch them in English. But when I watched Shuffle, I couldn't watch more than two minutes of it dubbed because the girl's voice made me want to kick a puppy.

The spontaneous roleplay in the Hetalia LJ community gets pretty shocking, I'm not gonna lie.
Subs. When Anime is Dubbed they leave out a lot and censor stuff... and I'm not okay with that.

Muu?

I prefer subs because I get used to the Japenese voices. Though I do watch the anime in english if it's on tv, just to see how much they messed it up.

GetCrazyy
i prefer both because its true about what cencerd in subs and in the voices sound cooler since adult swim has they keep
cursing scream scream scream scream scream scream

I prefer subs.

Before the cries of "Weeaboo!" start, I actually prefer subtitles for anything that was originally in another language. If I'm gonna watch a german opera, I'm going to want to hear it at least once in german. Hearing it in it's native language just tends to give you a better experience, because that's what it was originally written for and that's what the writer had in mind.

I have heard decent dubs before, though, and a rare few that I thought were very good. I just tend to prefer the japanese "over-dramatization and emotionalization" over the performance typically given in the dubs by the english VAs. I like that in general as well, so it's not just in anime.

Disclaimer: This is all my personal opinion.

      Subs.

Why are fansubs better then official subs?

No sig at the moment.

It all depends on who is the dubber and what kind of anime it is.

I really don't care as long as I get to watch whatever anime I like and be able to understand if whether I'm listening to it or reading.

Subs, I only like dubs in Miyazaki movies.

THEY DO EXIST

I don't really care, but I would like to watch subs if I can, cuz it's nice to experience it in its original way. but if I'm trying to something else at the same time, I'll watch dubs, but the name kinda sound weird.

I find subs to be generally better, but I have heard a few good dubs here and there as well.
