Cowboy Bebop and Wolf's Rain are the best and saddest anime shows I've seen
Protagonists just dont die these days and Todays anime is very weak in storyline and way outstretched c'mon 200 episodes and the story never changes????If youre looking for good storyline try one of these two they are what youre looking for and They dont pass more than 30 episodes per series.

Clannad, definitely. Eureka Seven gave me feels, but it was more like happy crying than sad crying. Also, Sword Art Online. That show is a ******** roller coaster. heart crying

I thought the ending to Code Geass: Lelouch of the Rebellion was pretty depressing as well.
