The English version does pronounce the names right. Just as right as the Japanese tend to pronounce English names. If you don't complain about the pronunciation of English names in the Japanese versions of shows like Full Metal Alchimist and D. Gray man then you should not complain about how the English pronounce Japanese names.

As for the Disney Xd version, while it was edited and some of the changes were bad for the most part it was pretty well done. Going by the first five episodes I would say it was Toonami level.

The treatment of Naruto on Disney Xd reminded me of Outlaw Star and Tenchi Muyo on Toonami. Not bad for what it is, it could have been a million times worse, and at least the uncut dub exists just in case.

It was decent.

Honestly though, why dont they put the anime on a network that can keep all the normal translation and animation, keeping it just like the japanese version? I honestly think that the japanese version was the best, english dubbers really don't do such a great job in my opinion (then again none of them really do imo), and they dont cut out one of the best parts that I remember in the japanese version. If anything good happens, keep it original.

much of the time the companies that buy the license to an anime are required to keep it aimed at the same demographic it's aimed at in Japan (at least for TV airings, DVDs are almost always uncut). the problem arises from the fact that Japanese standards are not the same as North American/Western standards. they're more open about certain types of nudity, sexual undertones, and violence in stuff aimed at kids than we are. they're a different culture with a different set of religious morals setting their cultural standards.

that said, Naruto and Naruto Shippuden hail from Weekly Shonen Jump, a magazine that runs manga aimed at the younger half of the shonen demographic (preteens to young teens). Naruto Shippuden is thus aimed at the demographic they aim to target on Disney XD. the edits done to it are only there to make sure it follows the criteria needed to be on a timeslot that will draw in the most viewers from that demographic.

seriously, the editing is not THAT bad. trust me on this. I started watching anime back in the first half of the 80's and remember series being cobbled together from two or more series and the dubs actually being completely rescripted instead of being a translation.

Cartoon Network is a "family Broadcasting Channel" too you know. And they really did not change much. Outside a removal of blood it's pretty much the same as it always was. And it's not like Disney is preventing Viz from releasing the show uncut, they ARE NOT.

Really stop acting like this is a 4kids level hack job or worse. Man Naruto fans don't know what it's like to have a true hack job.
