@ Blood Liberal - Yes, but Last Exile and Trinity blood had the same aspect to them. They both skipped at the crucial part to get it over and done with, and left you guessing what's gonna happen next.

Last Exile skipped right where Exile had shed its Cocoon, Trinity Blood stopped right when Abel was attacking his worst enemy, and then they went to the epilogue.

@ Exiled Poet - So then it works just like Eureka seveN then.

There is supposed to be a picture of them all in the epilogue, with Dio's waving hand and foot coming into the picture as they smile at him, which is actual art by the Manga Artist and not fan-made.

I actually didn't mind Dio, since he was kind of the whole "Anti" which made Claus and Lavie try harder. I thought he had a good development, and the sad part is he never learned Claus's name (which is why he was probably so happy in the Grand Stream, cause he would get to learn "Immelmann's" true name), however, he thinks he himself killed Luciola.

However, it is also a mystery of why his voice is heard on the Silvana yelling ascending, taking to note he could've simply snuck on or he could've fell and got into the Engine room after Exile "erased" the Grand Stream.

...Looking forward to Clannad episode 4 xP

I'm absolutely certain Dio knew Claus's name. Not only had he heard it being said a crap load of times throughout the series but he actually called Claus, 'Claus' once, when they both returned to the abandoned Silvana.

On a side note: I'm sure most are already aware, but it seems that Murata has been quoted on saying that Dio was picked up by a guild ship after falling from his vanship, as written in a certain book or some such thing.

I also do not think him being alive would ruin the ending in anyway, as he would still think he was the cause of Luciola's death, until 'enlightened', which may be not be simple considering his broken state of mind.

However, there is two arguments. The interview included him being picked up by a Guild ship, while a picture also includes him walking onto the scenery at the orphanage where Alvis is now at, as they were having their picture taken.

Really? Could you post the link to the picture?

I got the exact picture, I saw the info on Wiki. Apparently it is in the official Last Exile Art Book or something. However I got it other ways, it is below.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Last_Exile#Episode_list

Look down in the 'trivia' section.

Wikipedia

It is stated in an interview placed in the Last Exile art book Aerial Log that Dio Eraclea was picked up by a passing Guild ship after he fell from his vanship in the final episodes of the show. In addition, there is a scene depicted in the series' official artwork showing Claus, Lavie, and their friends living on the farm turning and smiling at an individual stepping into the frame with them. Though all that can be seen is one foot and a waving hand, the individual appears to be wearing Dio's Guild uniform.

Here is the image, I found it in "special" ways. It was hard, but I got it.

Oh, *that* picture. I was actually hoping you were referring to something else. (thank you though!)I hope I can get the Range Murata box set before they're all gone...

What's this? Trying to act like you know everything now? The description in the post I made a day or two back should have made you say the same thing.

You even quoted the post I said it in.

So if it was that obvious, I doubt there would be other pictures other than the one true one from the Manga-ka himself. So how can you have hoped it was another picture, cause you obviously don't seem to have the picture on file yourself.

I am glad that Dio is alive. I mean... it's kinda corny in a way but it's still nice to know that he's there somewhere living in freedom that he never had with his sister around. She got what she had coming to her!
Sorry I haven't been replying much, I'm having a time with this sucky harddrive. I'm enjoying reading everyone's posts though!

I have the Range Murata edition box set of LE, so I've seen that picture of everyone around the vanship and Dio coming just barely in view. I was very skeptical, that and the "Ascending!!!" echo being the only things hinting at him being alive. I thought he had died, and those were just to tease you, but from what you guys have posted, I suppose it does make sense that he lives. Interesting.

Fannana: Might I suggest buying Pilot's Goggles, then wearing the Syaoran's goggles over your eyes? That may make it look even more like Lavie. Her in complete Navi outfit, anyway. Is it me, or did that sound like "Nazi"?
Okay I shall try the Pilot's Goggles. And Navi does sounds like Nazi. One letter difference...scary.
I have a question all of a sudden... Are the different colors of the Guild member's clothes of any significance? Most seem to be white but there are the occasional light brownish color and the seemingly less often dark brownish black color.

I dunno what version of the boxset I have, I suppose it is different from the US boxart though. I will look. Nope, that image does not pop up anywhere in my boxset, on any of the volumes or anything.

Hehe. If you need some gold, let me know.

My thoughts were that the higher-ups had the more white outfits, whereas the servants like Cicada had black outfits. Not sure if this is consistant, though. Don't all the Starfish pilots have white outfits? Hmm...

Hmm. Well, I am very proud of my boxset. On each of the DVD covers, front and back, it has Range Murata art. And on the inside, it has data on the Silvana, Disith ships, Anatary ships, the red vanship, Exile itself, and more. It was even an impulsive buy. Just saw it there, in the mall, and nothing else mattered. I had to get it. And I never once regretted the 90 bucks.

I'm trying to make the gold. LOL. I have a bit over 1k. sweatdrop It was the boots that killed me when I bought them. A near 7k. What a price rip off.

That couldn't be because Luciola is a servant like Cicada and he has white clothing. Then there is Dio after he got brainwashed and his clothing was the same dark color as Cicada. X3

Hmm. Indeed. This clothing color is confusing. I don't have an answer.

LOL. I love confusing questions. X3 I love to think about something and I have been mulling that one over for a while now to see if I could come up with something and I can't. Okay then how about this one; Is Luciola older than Dio? I get the feeling that he is but I can't be sure because sometimes he seems younger.

I would think he is younger. If he were older, he would have been brainwashed before Dio. Servants get their brains washed too, right?

Yes I would think that they brain wash everyone. That was the reason I had to think he was younger... but he acts older. He still had prominent emotions, unlike his brother and the rest of the noticeably older Guild members. But then Delphine... she doesn't exactly act like she was brainwashed at 17 now does she? I wonder if she was able to get out of it or something. I can't believe what those people have to go through... She gets such wonderful food and they don't eat squat and they get brainwashed and have to do her bidding? My hatred for the woman just gets stronger the more I think about it.
Loved the show, watched the first 3 DVD's over and over until yay verily, i got the box set last christmas!
One of my favourites by far. Although the ending disappointed me... I still love it.
Especially when Lavi smashes the chair on that guys poker table or whatever when they cheated in the racing xd that was so cool.

Delphine is a horrible person. That scene where she was using grade 1 water to clean mud off her food made me want to scream.

Last Exile is amazing. My friend bough the box set and we watched it together. Her brothers walked into the room when Luciola was hanging off of Dio. That was funny.
