This thread has been moved twice so far. Originally I posted it in the "Anime Series & Movies" forum. Then it was moved by Streamjumper to the TV Anime forum. Then, Kurosune_Aoki moved this thread BACK to the Anime Series & Movies forum. Just to let you know, there has apparently been uncertainty as to where this thread should be. If a mod in charge would like to have the final say, I will screenshot your PM and post it here so that any other mod reading this will not move the thread.
I think the problem lies in that Last Exile aired on G4tv, which was an American TV channel but not a basic channel.

As the stickies say, there's no "official" thread, but I hope this will be the one thread that all the Last Exile fans will use. This is my first time trying to make a good, long-lasting thread, and judging by the 'popularity' of Last Exile, I doubt this thread will go very far.. but I hope there's more Last Exile fans than I think. As it turns out, this thread has become a success! Not to mention it has been the predecessor to another success. Please join our community of fans at the Last Exile Official Guild! Some of you may feel that you are the only Last Exile fan out there, but there are more of us than you think!



-ABOUT LAST EXILE-
Last Exile is a beautiful, twenty-six episode, steampunk anime created by Gonzo, with art from Range Murata. The series was licensed for English language broadcast and distribution in North America by Geneon Entertainment. Geneon premiered their English dubbed version of the series in TechTV's Anime Unleashed programming block in March 2004. Two CD soundtracks for Last Exile were produced by Dolce Triade and released by Victor Entertainment.
A major element in Last Exile are the wingless flying ships, powered by a source known as Claudia. Some are two-man machines and some are paramount to galleons, holding large crews.

I want to commission a Last Exile caramelldansen, since there seems not to be any in existence. Following are the options in consideration:
1) Dio and Lucciola. It will have Dio dancing happily and Lucciola following along with his usual serious face.
2) Holly, Alvis, and the goat plushie. Alvis will be dancing as she holds the goat plushie on top of her head, and Holly dances beside her.
3) Sophia, Alex, and Vincent. Alex dances beside Sophia, but Vincent pushes him out of the way and tries to impress the Empress.

Ohmygosh seriously? That's pretty much my story too! I had only watched like five episodes on G4, but I knew I loved it so much more than most other anime, so early this year I bought the Range Murata edition for 90 dollars. And I am seriously in love with this anime. It's my only box set I own thus far.

I actually plan to get the same tattoo that Dio has on his forehead, but im getting it on the center of my back right below my neck. Thats how much I like Last Exile XP

When I get a job, I plan on buying box sets of .hack//Roots, Beyblade, FMA, GitS, etc., as well as more manga. I basically only have all the Kingdom Hearts manga and 13 volumes of Rurouni Kenshin so far.
Also, I have random single DVDs I bought really cheap, such as Cyborg 009 (I LOVE Cyborg 009), Card Captor Sakura, Yukikaze (awesome anime), etc.
A pitiful collection thus far but 'tis loved >w<

Back on Last Exile, Yes, I've watched it maybe 3-4 times thru thus far, and YES. DIO. One of the most awesome characters of all time! Dio Dio Dio *points to her own sig* Dio Dio Dio >w<

Last Exile is my all time favorite anime! It was the first anime I really got into and I turned around to my brother and said, "I'm getting this." I finally after two years, have got the whole series and I love it! I have watched it so many times I have lost count. I will say that the English Dub is good, but as soon as I watched it in Japanese, I liked the Japanese better. (obviously) I will say that I was sad to learn that the English doesn't really do anything with the gay mechanic, while in Japanese you KNOW he's gay. Also, in Japanese, Dio has a HUGE obsession over death, while in English, it's a passing fancy. I love both subbed and dubbed!

For Christmas two years ago, I got the stuffed goat plushie! I love it and it stands tall for all to see on my stereo in my room!

yes, he is. Ive not yet seen a character in any anime thats as entertaining as him. All of the characters are great actually ^^
