Welcome to Gaia! ::

I've only ever seen one episode of bleach before, and i wasn't able to get into it. How did you start watching anime?

I was started to read mangas first when i was like... 6 years old and the age of 7 i started to get involve on watching anime.

The firsst manga was Doraemon

the first Anime was Sailormoon
I read a manga then watched the anime, though I had been watching Pokemon forever.
My first manga was Fruits Basket, then I watched the anime which saddened me so I went back to the library and read Ouran High School Host Club then watched that. I've watched many other animes since.

My first anime was Yu-Gi-Oh! Find one that really suits your interest. Anime is just like any other form of media, cartoons, movies, TV shows, you have to find one you like, with a plot you're interested in.
The first anime I ever watched was SDF Macross, which I watched with my mom's boyfriend (who was a total nerd) when I was like 5. I liked it, but it was just another cartoon to me, ya know? It wasn't until probably about middle school that I started to watch anime regularly, and that was because of Toonami. The first anime I really fell in love with though (and which made me a fan of anime for life) was Gundam Wing.

If your going to watch anime, start it out right. Avoid Bleach, Inu Yasha, Naruto, and stuff like that, unless your like 10 years old, then go for it. Start out with something good, like Kino no Tabi (adventure), Spice and Wolf (romance), Black Lagoon (action), or Jigoku Shoujo (horror).

That's a pretty broad spectrum there, you should find something you enjoy among that list.

My mom purchased a Sailor Moon DVD when I was 3-4 years old.
I watched it, liked it (probably), and got into the whole 'anime/manga' phase.

      Yeah.. don't ask how. I was 3!

First exposed to Toonami, watching Dragon Ball Z and Gundam Wing. Then I lost cable so I stopped watching anime for years until Pokemon and Yu-Gi-Oh! aired on T.V. That was about all the anime I watched until my friends were talking about Naruto. I read volume 1 of the manga and liked it.

Then they talked about the Death Note anime which I got hooked on. Then I started watching the Naruto anime which was at episode 175 ish when I started. I went on long marathons and caught up and pretty much at that point the flood gates opened. I started watching Code Geass, Gundam Seed, Seed Destiny, re-watched Wing, Chobits, etc.

On behalf of the anime community at large...I am so very sorry.
I honestly started with Dragon Ball Z, Sailor Moon, Cardcaptor Sakura, and Hamtaro, and never really realized what anime was till Toonami was filled with it. Yu Yu Hakusho, Tenchi, G Gundam, etc. etc. And now, it seems all I really ever watch, if I'm not playing some game are all those crazy confusing anime series with so much plot, if you're not paying attention it blows right past you. XD

My First Boss when i was 14years old borrowed me TRIGUN and i fell in love with Vash The Stampede (hahaha man crush) Anyway, i spent my whole 1st $75 paycheck on the series from him, on VHS and from there just started collecting others i wanted to see. Im not a BLEACH fan, or a fan of most of the currently popular series in general, but i am a minor OTAKU sweatdrop

Ah not really, looking back I only wonder why the hell did I ever watch Chobits. I still think Code Geass and Death Note were decent shows. Seed and Destiny were tolerable if you look past the ripping off of past Gundam series, angst, and pretty boy-ness.
I got into manga before I got into anime. My friend left his Rurouni Kenshin book behind in class one day and I picked it up to give to him next I saw him. Was bored in class and decided to thumb through it. Instant addiction, worse than crack.

The first anime I watched was Sailor Moon. I'd watched it as a kid, but didn't really think anything of it until I had gotten into manga, so I went back and re-watched it all.
