The scene in Episode 2 of Death Note, where L trick Light into killing an inmate on a supposedly world wide broadcast but then reveals it was just in the Kanto area of Japan. Wherein, he's proven Kira can kill without being present, just needs a name and a face, and is in the Kanto region.

I have several favorite anime scenes but three of them right now are my top favorite... the first is the marriage proposal and aftermath scene in Vision of Escaflowne episode 23, the second is Sgt Frog where Giroro spies on Natsumi in the shower for the first time, and finally the third is when Natsumi knocks Giroro out for the first time.
