Me thinks that Ergo Proxy definately deserves a 9.5 or higher. It is probably one of the best anime there is with the emotional and great story plots. And well, it's a great anime for anyone. Period. Well, perhaps not for the weak of stomach and hearts.
The only thing that I did dislike is how they left the story. I wish there were more but of course, we always wish there are more to a good anime, never wanting it to end.

I've only watched the first 3 episodes. Rel looks like a badass lady punk, it looks like a good and in depth series, but it's slightly too dark and serious for me. I know I'm missing out but...yeah. If a strange urge strikes me in the future, I might go and finish it.

Aha ha - I'd thought that was pretty swell, till I finished the series. Of course, rewatching it reveals a lot more, and now I've started looking up every possible allusion they might have made. Paranoia is inevitable, o'course, now I'm seeing allusions everywhere - Ergo Proxy is deep, no doubt, and it's easy to see things that aren't there.

Re-L - has her reasons. Sure I hated her for being so mean to Vincent, and sometimes to Pino too, but I liked her for being, well, flawed. Anime's got the fault of making their female protagonists annoyingly perfect, which just the perfect flaws - I need to punch a few of them while I'm at it.
Vincent's flawed too - to be honest I viciously felt he deserved everything that came to him in the first six-seven episodes. That's before I got hooked, haha. sweatdrop
Though, true to myself, I'm quite taken with Daedalus, our favorite psycho stalker obsessed creep mad scientist. Funny how everybody in the fandom despises him; I think he's adorable. Smug selfish conceited little git. whee

As far as aesthetics go, Ergo Proxy is... agh. The visuals make me cry with envy, and the soundtrack is shea butter for my synth-o-philiac ears. Mm-n. I'm probably exaggerating here, but now most other animes seem dreadfully shallow.

I give it a full 10 out of 10. Till I find a better one, it's staying up there. 3nodding
