To begin...

A crime in which there is no motive.. A crime in which the absence of a motive becomes the motive..

He's one person yet he's not.. He can appear in font of anyone who has been driven into a corner and has nowhere to go.. He's still at large.. Lil' Slugger is still out there on the loose!!

Must not talk about him.. Must not think about him!! Rumors help him grow.. Imagination..

Paranoia Nurtures him!!

And then..

We bid you farewell..

Paranoia Agent was such a confusing anime for me. I tried watching it twice, but still didn't quite get it. It probably doesn't help that I missed a few episodes.

I hear you.. I bought the series, and watched it through at least 3 times before I fully caught onto what it's actually supposed to be about.. You get so distracted by the art and caught up in the crazyness to notice that a lot of things are metaphors for other things.. Good show.. mrgreen

man that show never made sence 2 me whats so ever and i watched it 2 different times cuz and i dont understand it one bit

nothing can stop me from exacting my revenge on the meiji government!!!!!

A MONKEY ENTERTAINS A BOX..

WHY DO THE BLACK CROWS CAW??

IS THIS THE LAST EPISODE OF A DREAM??

OR, CRIES OF THE NEWLY BORN SHOES OF GOLD??

AND THEN..

My favorite episode was the one where a group all tried to kill themselves but failed.

Same thing for me.
It was actually one of the series that got me interested in anime.

Tina Fey x James Franco x Pimiko-tan = OTP

This was also a show for me that influenced me more about life and my tastes in anime..

Also, a note about the awesome episode in which a group of friends repeatedly try to commit 'ritual suicide' VIA the internet and fail.. You may not have realized this, but they keep failing over and over because they're all really dead already!! It's all about the pervasive theme of self-delusion..

You'll notice after the first few opening minutes *the scene in the dilapidated house* none of the 3 "dead" characters have shadows anymore..

And, in the subway, the dude who gets up after being hit by the train doesn't have a shadow, and no one around seems to "notice" he's up and walking around after being hit..

The title joke at the end of the episode "Happy Family Planning" on the side of the condom machine illustrates the point of hypocrisy and delusion once again.. Just as suicidal, already dead people can never die.. You can't have a family by wearing a condom..

That one is another of my favorite episodes too, and this series one of my favorite shows!! ^_^

I loved that anime it was creepy in someways, like the ending theme O_o or that episode where the chick had a split personality, when it showed like running make-up on her face right before she got hit by lil slugger was creepy as hell.

wow that is really awesome, now I want to see that episode just to see all that. kudos for noticing something like that.

Episode 3: 'Double Lips' is the one that focuses around the schizophrenic woman.. That is another one of the best episodes because it focuses on the core themes of the series like what it feels like to be emotionally cornered.. Here is a woman, who in split personalities is at war with who she truly is.. By day, a private tutor and assistant at a local university, and by night.. a prostitute who enjoys the thrill of Tokyo's underworld.. The outcome is savage.. And, it's not to be missed..

yep yep that was actually the first episode I saw and got me wanting to watch it even more.

When darkness overcomes the heart,

Lil' Slugger appears...

Following the stepping stones, and connecting each dot,

We find the eternal castle of recurring dreams..

No mystery remains unsolved forever,

And there is no answer without mystery..

Violent salvation rips through the dark, quiet night..

And then...

to tell you the truth, i found the entire seiries made sense before watching it a second time... and my fave episode is the one where the animation company is making a Maromi TV show... now look at that symbolism and don't tell me that isn't ******** creepy s**t dude...

To begin..

That is also another one of my favorite episodes!! "Mellow Maromi" Episode 10 Each employee at the animation studio is backed into a corner and lil' slugger seeks them out until he finally gets the last employee in the very end.. I love the note final employee leaves on the desk which reads..

"don't look for me" or something like that..

I agree, Paranoia Agent's 10th episode is indeed one of the best of all!!

And then..

"Spring brings cherry blossoms to comfort you.. The Summer stars, the harvest Moon in Fall, and the powdered snow in Winter.. All of these things, and the promise of them is what makes sake taste so good.."
