I actually preferred the Death Note movies to the anime and manga itself since they left out Near and Mello, who I felt were horrible additions to the series since the beginning.

I had no idea that they were planning a live action naruto film. I love the series, but that would just ruin it. Anime is supposed to remain anime, and if you're gonna do a live action film, get actors that CAN PASS AS THE AGE OF THE CHARACTERS AND FIT THE PART!!!

You mean the movie who is still a year away before release, yes I do, It still has a year left to suck. After Dragon Ball Evolution, all Ideas for live action anime Sucks by default unless proven otherwise.

And I liked the Death note movies. And they are JAPANESE making a JAPANESE movie for sell in JAPAN! who else are they gonna use? they have to use someone who knows JAPANESE!

Good thing Avatar is NOT based on anime then huh.

Oh it being over a year away is MORE reason not to think it will instantly suck. And generally a first look gives indication of a movies quality and the first look at Avatar is great.

Er if you like the live action Death Notes then isn't that proof that they can be good. Oh and it's funny that you are defending something in the Japanese live action movie that you are attacking in an American live action movie. I love double standards don't you.

Dragon Ball Evolution sucked because it was a bad movie with a horrible casr, a crappy script, poor special effects and a horrible director. It being a live action version of an anime is not why it sucked. It would have sucked if it was not based on dragon Ball. It was just a poorly acted movie simple as that.

To say that all of them will suck because one does is wrong. the Director of the Avatar movie is actually a good director. That alone makes in much better then the Dragon ball movie. One has a no named talent less hack and the other one has a talleneted director whose movies sadly have declined in quality recently. Still Shamalan seems determained to make a loyal Avatar movie.

the minute long teaser of Avatar already makes it look 100 times better then most animation to Live action movies. They did not change the setting, the movie does not take place on earth for no good reason. The Costume designs are loyal to the show and not updated. the world looks like Avatar.

Now the moment I see something like a Leather jacket wearing Zuko riding a fire bending powered Motorcycle I will join in the hate. But so far everything i have seen about the adaption has been pretty loyal. Lord of the Rings loyal, Batman Begins Loyal, Iron man loyal.

I really think the movie could be huge, For one thing they could have made Anng 18 years old like whats going to happen to Jonny Quest. There are so many ways to ruin a live action adaption of an animated show and I have seen them all. Avatar looks to me one of the few loyal ones. yes I'm jumping to conclusions based on a minute teaser, I know but hey a minute teaser was all we needed to see how horrible DBE was going to be.

I'm not a huge fan of Naruto, or live action films, but I think that Shia would be a good choice to PLAY Naruto. I mean..he can be goofy. Remember his old role in those Disney shows? I forgot the name of them, but he did a pretty good job as his character, and I think he'd be a good choice for Naruto. Live Action totally ruins the anime though. They're also making one for Cowboy Bebop
