so you're saying you prefer Japanese because the Japanese VAs can do no wrong when it comes to voicework and the English ones are the opposite?

I'm not accusing them, I'm just saying that Japanese voice actors tend to be very suiting to their assigned characters; and are excellent voice actors in general. Plus, when Japanese words or references are used - they make sense, but in English it can be altered due to translation and idiom differences. Although say...Final Fantasy, I think American voice actors sound better in English; instead of their Japanese voice acting in video games, on the contrary.

now, I know almost no Japanese, but I have had the luck to be able to discuss anime with people who are fluent in both Japanese and English (some of which either grew up in Japan or spent many years there), some of them online, but some of those people I've actually talked to in real life (including one college exchange student from Japan). they've told me in all honesty that comparing a 2000 and onward dub to a Japanese dub there's typically very little difference in quality, outside of some exceptions like a 4Kids dub and some other odd TV dubs. they've told me that the adaption of Japanese to American idioms wasn't bad at all and that the translators used today actually have become much better than they use to be at adapting stuff that doesn't translate well. they've also told me they're about as likely to prefer an American dub to the Japanese original dub.

Whatever, I'm not here to argue; I was simply stating my honest opinion, and never did I say you or anyone else had to agree with me not matter what.

then how come you used phrasing that is better suited to stating facts rather than opinions? without visual or tonal indications to indicate they are something other than a factual statement that's what they'll appear to be. I've bolded the only thing you've said that was actually phrased to indicate it was on opinion. the rest was either phrased so it implied it was factual or solidly stated as fact.

I prefer watching it in Japanese.
I used to watch it in English a lot, though.. before I realized Japanese was better.

Dragon Ball Z is the only one I still prefer in English.

I watch animes in Japanese it's actually better than the English version because its original and some of the stuff are cut out in the English version

At first I watched them in English, but then one day I was searching for this show "my ordinary life", was only able to find it on cruncyroll and it was in japanese. It ruined dubs for me because now dubs sounds and look weird.

I usually watch anime in Japanese, mostly because it´s easier to find a better quality that way and they sound good. I don´t mind watching it on English though razz

Generally it depends...I'm pretty okay with either as long as the voice acting in general is decent.
I tend to watch anime in Japanese more since I tend to watch newer/on-going stuff frequently...

I'd much prefer to watch anime in English if I'm multi-tasking (like doing homework or eating) so I don't have to concentrate so much on the subtitles though....

Generally, I stick to the sub. The only exception where I prefer the dub was Outlaw Star, though Cowboy Bebop and Yuu Yuu Hakusho had great dubs.
