ef (tales of memories and then melodies), Air, Kanon and True Tears have a similar style

This one anime depressed me so much. It's got a long title, but it's worth the watch : Mahou Tsukai ni Taisetsu na Koto: Natsu no Sora.
Tokyo Magnitude 8.0 is also very touching and sad. NANA is definitely a good watch & read too.

you should watch elfen lied... Its a very romantic and "touching" anime.

i forgot to mention Rumbling Hearts (Kimi Ga Nozomu Eien) and H2O
also this 2 may fit in the sad category, though i haven't seen them, Sola and Myself Yourself

Peach Girl got me to cry a waterfall.
I wouldn't call it sad because i cried for many different reasons. It's most certainly touching though.
I'd reccomend it if you haven't seen it already.
Sorry, I can't think of any others at the moment.
