Your opinion on shipping?

I'm pretty neutral on shipping. Like I ship my fair share and it's fun to think about possibilities that two characters could have together, weather or not they actually have any canon validity.

However, what I despise beyond all reason is when people insist that their ship is canon or has a chance at being canon when that is just not the case. Like seriously, ship all you want but you don't have a say it what is canon. You don't have to love, or even like the canon pairings but you sure as hell don't have the right or power to 'confirm' your ship as canon just because you like it more.

Considering how much online shopping I do for myself and others, I'd say I'm pretty cool with shipping.

Oh yeah. Except when you order something around Christmas time and you're checking the PO box everyday. And then 2 weeks later they e-mail you "OH BTW WE'RE OUT OF STOCK YOU LOSE HAHAHA." Damn them shipteases. xp

And it sucks because the anime I usually go for is Shonen, which usually has the characters hardcore friend-zoned.
I still have hope that Nami and Luffy get together at the end. crying

I'll ship people if I feel they could make it work if they're together.
But crack pairings are always fun.

Only peeve is when people ship characters who are already in a relationship. Though on rare occasions I break that peeve.

im a romantic. immediately when i start an anime, my mind is searching for the first pairing to ship.
i try to stick to canon pairings, because i get immensely disappointed if it doesnt happen.
AND IM NAIVE, I REFUSE TO BELIEVE MION X KEIICHI IS THE CANON PAIRING FOR HIGU.
I REFUSE.

Anyway. So I just watched the last episode of Natsume Yuujinchou. And I was shipping Natsume and Taki for a while, because Taki is awesome. But the bromance was so heavy last episode Im shipping Natsume and Tanuma now...

I love shipping, I do it way too much. coughmainlyBL. Straight is a given as long as it's not super girly and sparkly, yuri only if it's cute and sentimental.
Sometimes it makes an anime a whole lot more entertaining for me, although if it's not canon or the show's not a romance one it's a little unsatisfying, but there's always fanart or fanfiction, except it might be an unpopular pairing or anime or the fandom doesn't satisfy. gonk

I just can't use one character for more than one ship. It feels like they're cheating on the person I pair them with and it gives me this sucky feeling even though they're not real. emo

some shipping is done well, especially when the characters are kept to their personalities or as close as possible while doing something that could quite obviously be out of their character. still, some are done poorly, and some shipping pairing should NEVER happen...but they do and that's when we get nightmares or want to rip out our eyes at the visuals
