I'm curious. I've been playing with my Rosetta Stone and I've realized I'm VERY very glad I know some of this s**t to begin with. Or else it would just be oh so confusing. (They screw up an awful lot, imo)

Anywho. So what words have you learned and what's the definition that you know? Oh, and where all did you pick it up? (I did from anime, manga, songs, fanfics, movies, plays, friends...) I know a lot, but I used to know even more.. I've forgotten some. sweatdrop

What words do you know and what are the definitions you think they are?
Where did you learn them?

Something useful

Yeah, really. xD I must admit, that one was one of the first ones I learned myself...
僕はあほです。

And a bunch of wasei-eigo.
The first words I learned were baka and kawaii. But then I decided to stop being a weeaboo and took the time to actually learn the language. EDIT: I've been studying for 5 years now but still now where near fluent. Currently, I'm in between level N5 and N4 right now. My goal is to at least be really comfortable with N4.

Have no idea what N5 and N4 are. But it sounds complicated...

I'm no actual speaker of Japanese, but... listening to anime in Japanese has made me aware of keyphrases that I hear most commonly in anime.

It's not that I think I can speak Japanese, but understanding it is a lot easier now than it was before. I believe the more you're exposed to it, the more you learn, whether it's with or without subs.

Yessss. You can really take for granted the simplest things you pick up. Like just how to pronounce things. o-o;

I've learned things like how to say please and excuse me, how to say shut up or annoying, the different greetings, and the different ways to say good bye. There's other stuff but its all basic phrases like "Let's go!". You know stuff that lots of anime repeat.
There are a couple...
Itsumo
Baka
Kawaii
Itachi
Neko
Inu
Aoi

It's not worth bragging about and I can't even use one of these to my advantage, not even a sentence.

Everything else has been drowned out by my English and French language classes and eventually whatever language class my next school has to offer.
I've recognized a few words I learned in Japanese before, but not too often. Obviously, it would be harder to NOT pick up on common exclamations when watching anime. Which is why we have all these kiddies running around yelling "baka! kawaii! sugoi!" etc. sweatdrop

Currybutt
Kiru mi beibi

And.. what's that? o.o That doesn't look like japanese. That looks like a sad gibberish of "kill my baby"
