Awesome, though between watching Monster, Serial Experiments Lain, Kaiji season 2, and most of what I missed out on from the last anime season, I doubt I'll get time to watch that/those anime. sad

Well my friend, at least you are ditching these two anime for things that are just as good. Lains a classic, Moster was just down right entertaining, and Kaiji....IT'S ******** KAIJI I don't need to say more than that.

But I just remembered there is one yuri pairing I can get behind. And that's the two main characters in Saki.
For some reason, this I like.

I have a generally large range of enjoyment.

I can get behind anime with more thought put behind them like Lain, Mushishi, Kino's Journey, Casshern Sins, Kaiji, Akagi, Monster, Phoenix, etc, etc...

But I can also enjoy mindless s**t like One Piece and Bleach. I KNOW Bleach is terrible, I know how heavily flawed it is, but despite the fact it is flawed garbage, I enjoy it because of its stupidity.

I can enjoy the good and the bad; even if something is flawed, and technically a VERY bad anime, I can still enjoy it. I acknowledge Bleach is terrible, but I"m so far in, I might as well read it weekly. ><

I also love GOOD mindless shonen; I honestly feel like Toriko is a better Dragonball Z; it is over the top and ridiculous, but it is cliche done WELL!

I feel like you should be able to appreciate more complex anime, but one should never be so much of an elitist that they also cannot enjoy something mindless and silly.

Oh no, I understand what you mean.
I think the anime Highschool Of the Dead is a horrible anime, cliched, mindless, fanservice filled piece of garbage I've ever seen,
But I was SOOO entertained while watching it.
To me, an anime is only TRULY terrible if I find 0% enjoyment in watching it. And even then that's only my opinion. Some of my favorite series have been declared s**t by other. But hey, who cares. We like what we like.

I don't automatically roll my eyes when someone talks about Naruto, but... If I find out someone ONLY watches mindless, shitty, "popular," anime, I will get annoyed. I tried showing some things like Mushishi, and Kaiji in my High School anime club...

The fourteen year old girls whined and bitched about how terrible these shows were, and then proceeded to write terrible Naruto fanfiction in their notebooks; they won't even give more obscure s**t a chance.

Their idea of "different," was watching the subbed version of Gurren Lagann before it was released, God DAMN ignorant ********.

It is okay to like Naruto, Death Note, Bleach, ANYTHING you want; but you should also be intelligent enough to understand that the shows have MASSIVE faults, and are very flawed. Enjoy them despite knowing they are flawed, and don't try to pretend they are perfect.

I have no tolerance for people who only watch the mainstream, popular s**t, and automatically denounce anything slightly obscure as "boring," or "s**t."

I tried getting my thirteen year old cousin to watch Romeo x Juliet since she enjoys romance. She watched two episodes, exclaimed that the anime was really boring and stupid, and then proceeded to watch Vampire Knight.

I adore that crazy b***h Shizuru from Mai Hime. I don't understand how Natsuki could turn her down. xp (Yes, I know they're more or less canon in Mai Otome.)

Other pairings I like are Queen Alsheyra/Leerin (Chrome Shelled Regios), Homura/Madoka (Madoka Magica), Fate/Nanoha (Lyrical Nanoha), Shizuma/Miyuki (Strawberry Panic). That's all I can think of right now.
