I haven't seen much of Saiyuki. Only the first DVD. It was ok. Not bad, but not good either.... I like the characters. So far, that's the only reason I would continue watching it. I was somewhat disappointed with the animation though... Definitely not the best I've seen...

I've only really watched the first two discs of the original Saiyuki, but I honestly love it. I hear that in the manga, Kanan is Hakkai's sister...I heard this in a cute AMV, it is a conversation:
Two peeps talking bout Hakkai
Girl 1:You know, he loved his sister.
Girl 2:...! So...you mean...Hakkai was her...CANDYMAN?!

It makes me laugh, so if anyone gets on youtube try to find it. And try watching all of Saiyuki, I am!!! X3 Oh, and Gojyo is hot

I love the manga and anime, i own it all except for what hasn't been released stateside yet and Saiyuki reloaded gunlock.

Yeah thats right about the manga...its also the only manga i have ever seen with i Parental advisory printed as part of the cover which still impresses me for some odd reason to this day.

Also my nickname is Sanzo and my Best friend's is Hakkai. Another obvious reason that i like the show.

Ok so i love Saiyuki. but there is a catch i love the first season. for me it is the only saiyuki dub i will watch. i do watch reload and gunlock but only sub because i cant stand the dub actors. i have to admit i like the va for goku but only his voice in Naruto and kyo kara maoh. any who for the best dub is done by ADV with this cast list

Son Goku: Greg Ayres( fave chracter fave voice actor)

Sha Gojyo: Illich Gaurdiola
Genjo Sanzo: Dave Matranga
Kougaiji: Vic Mignogna (hottest character in the show)

I like the witty dialogue and the fact that the action sequences aren't drawn out to infinity and made to be something more than what they are (inavoidable fillers in between the actual story, rather than the actual story). That way, when the heroes really are in a tough situation, they can make it last for a couple of pages and it will actually seem like something big, rather than just another mundane gigantic battle (as opposed to DBZ or Naruto).

Edit: I suppose I should point out that I only read the manga. I haven't seen the anime.

I enjoyed Saiyuki very much, it was Awesome, I just wish that ADV dubbed Saiyuki Reload and Saiyuki Gunlock as well because Geneon didn't use the same voices so I found it hard to watch them.

I have not seen Saiyuki but have read much about it and know I would love it. I am currently watching Saiyuiki reload as it comes on. I wish I could see Goku with that band of his taken off. I have a pic of that and think he is awesome.
