Agreed. Not all of them are bad. Some dubs are better than the Japanese versions.
Besides, people who rave about subtitles forget that the subs are done by a group of people, and they contain way too many flaws. Subs are a horrible way to watch anime. I only trust subs when I buy my DVDs.

I tend to like fansubs because I don't want to wait months/years for a show to get to the US and dubbed. XD As for dubs, I think Kyo's English VA (Fruits Basket) did a decent job dubbing....but on the other hand, I like Envy's (FMA) Japanese VA better than the English one. ._.

I felt this was all I could contribute to your arguement. Being a dub doesn't make things worse. If you've seen YuGiOh the Abridged Series, you'd understand. But if you were a fan of One piece, and you heard the attrocious rap, then you'd lose all sense of rational thought as well. By the way, if you've read this far, you'll notice the terrible rap I made was an ironic homage to the One piece rap.

Censorship is a good topic to bring up here, but I really think a series like one piece can't transfer it's awesomeness when watered down.

Heh, I dislike the ratings (PG-13, R, etc.) in the U.S. I find it strange how shonen-ai is rated higher than het with similar content. It really irks me if they try to censor out hints/fanservice of BL or make it more vague.

Most dubs are good. It's just when a dub is bad it's Really REALLy bad. And people tend to focus on the bad dubs. A 4kids dub is not a common dub people it's actually the oppisite of the average dub.

If there was no such thing as dubbing anime, then all anime would be like one of those old silant movies, no talking at all.

The funniest dubs I ever heard were in the video game Shenmue. (I don't think I spelled that right) It was on the Dreamcast, then moved to the Xbox. Sorry, I'm not that familiar with bad anime dubs. Most people say 4Kids' One Piece, but I think those were mostly editing and censoring issues right?

Shenmue had decent acting, but the scripts were hilarious! "Do you know where there are any Chinese people?" rofl

umm.... everything. they dont talk like people usually would, they talk like 2 times slower so that the scenes end up being the same length. cause japanese takes longer to say a sentence than in english it makes since that the english people need to speak slower.

People that say subtitles are the best way to go... they must like to strain their eyes, but I have also seen some pretty good subbing. Dubbing on the other hand... sometimes the dubbing process is changed, because there are phrases in Japanese that wouldn't make any sense at all in English, or other languages. Also, subbing is also out there for people who want to get the jump on a show, or an episode that just came out about a week ago in Japan, or another country.

So... look at it this way. Neither is good or bad, but they are both ok. My opinion.

I have yet to hear a single scene like that in the Naruto dub. I find that dub to be very well done and well acted. I have actually found the emotional parts to be superior in the English dub of Naruto.

I will take your word on Bleach as I refuse to watch that show, in any form.
