I've heard a lot of questions about Naruto, like "Why do they run like that? Does it help? Can I do it in real life? Why and how?" Well, if any of you Naruto fans wonder that, too, then you've come to the right place.
Q: Why do the Naruto people run like that?
A: It actually helps them. Now picture a person running upright. That thing called air resistance is slowing them down for every place it touches. Now, imagine someone Naruto-style running. Since they're bent over, they cut down about two feet of air resistance, so it makes them faster. And yes, it does work in real life. I've increased my running speed by about 1 mph with the same effort as 1 mph less.
Q: Why do they jump with only one foot?
A: It's really simple. If they're running, tracking something or running away, they can't afford to lose any time. If they were to jump with both legs, they would have to stop completely and most likely lose their balance.
Q: What about that time where Shino was on his knees and jumped up without moving?
A: In some ways, it is possible. Since he's leaning against the wall, his weight is distributed there and not on his feet. Then he lifts his feet up and pounds down. Of course, you have to have a lot of leg strength to do that. And the direction of force in real life would cause you to go up and backwards.
Q: Could we do the Puppet Master Jutsu like Kankuro with ordinary string?
A: No. Kankuro has ten strings, and ten strings can only pull ten points unless you hook each string up to different points, and that would make the actions of your puppet uncontrollable.
