The bone wuestion got me thinking...if bones can be used as weapons, can you really use flutes like how Tayuya does?

Hmmm.....You mean with the whole genjustu/controling freaky monsters? I'll assume that's what you're talking about for my answer anyway. Someone else can elaborate becuase i know relatively little on this subject, but i think some sounds can actually affect our nervous system (hence the infamous brown note), but i'm not sure if it can get more elaborate than that. Someone else please confirm/elaborate on this!

The only other ways i can think of using a flute as a weapon would be;

A) Gouge someone's eyes out with it.

B) Use it to charm cobras into attacking them! (Wait....the cobras are attracted to the motion of the flute, not the actual noise.....so....um...even though that last one was fun, just forget it. sweatdrop )

I suppose maybe the monsters respond to the different frequency patterns that Tayuya's fflute emits. Like an A note could mean attack and a B note block. Then each octave that the flute could play could control a different minion.(an octave consists of eight notes from A to G)

It's coming up in the next arch of the dub, but there's a girl (or guy, i can't tell because i read a really messed up translation that referred to the character as both stressed ) who uses a flute to cast genjutsu and control these freaky monster things....Sorry if this spoiled anything, but i tried to keep it as general as possible. sweatdrop

And I think the only way to have perfect pitch is through savant syndrome, and for that they'd have to have a physical or mental disability. Also, flutes don't go that many octaves. It is a good theory, though.
